I was looking at them today, and every last one of them has white ears!! Now I get to figure out what they are!! Don't think they are dutch, cause their earlobes aren't that big. UGH!!!

We should make it for Friday the 5th then, and go to Louisville!! I know a nice little mexican restaurant that has lots of booze and dancing!! Don't think dad would watch Cris so I could go bar-hopping though!

that's a long drive to be drinking, I think we'd better behave a little more than that.

We'll come up with something, though -

Aw heck...We can just go to Bowling Green to drink and shop...Or is it shop then drink? Either way we'll have fun. I'll be the DD for you guys...I'm a wimpy drinker anyway. Hubby says I don't really drink cause I order things like Amaretto sours. He says thats just lemonade.
Made a promise to Cortni many years ago not to drink anymore and I haven't although I rarely went out like that to start with maybe once per year...I embarrased her one time when Ron took me out and I was really goofy and couldn't stand and someone was dropping her off at the house after rehearsal about the time I was being carried in. She was so mad at me and it was all Rons fault!

My BR that was supposed to hatch by tomorrow died after it started to zip...Still can't figure out why unless it's initial rip was in a spot that made it bleed to death...Passed on opening this one and checking it out.

I went down to the basement to check on the Serama chick and on the temps /humidities and when I looked in the hatcher I saw the chick was gasping slowly and shown the flashlight in to get a better look and about that time it took it's last breath. I left it in a while longer just in case but nope it died. Part of it all I guess...Getting used to it. Can't wait for broodies in the Spring. If Belle can hatch eggs in dry cold weather and I can't get many to make it past pip, then I think Someones trying to tell me something. I need to use broodies.

So I'll go ahead and get as many as I can hatched in the next month and I'm done for a couple months at least in the house. Meri, I'll be putting all the eggs laid in the bator about twice a week until the 20th since we can't eat the eggs til then because of treatment. You can keep them or sell them whichever you like. Thought maybe some of the large fowl can go to your neighbor after you keep what you want. BRs and Cochin/BRs. Bantams: Milles and Japs and maybe a Dutch mix.

I have a broody silkie mix right now sitting on a golf ball!! You could bring some of your eggs here and I could stick them under her. She hatched 7 on her own this summer, her first time, so she is pretty good. It is Gertie on my siggy link.

That's putting it mildly!! I had a bit of a wild streak when I was younger, but I'm usually the type that orders one drink and nurses it all night long!! Good thing though, since my one drink is usually about $5!! Gotta love those tequila sunrises!!

Okay I'll bring the ones I've been gathering this week...I'll probably be in town on Thursday. It'll only be about 9-10 eggs. I'm going to bring the first hatchlings to Meri's house. Was going to bring Belles too but after you talked about yours going into a depression after taking hers, and then my mom who was raised on a Minnesota farm said to leave them with Belle I decided to let them stay with momma chicken.

I'll get a pic of your Millie as soon as it starts to poke it's head out from under momma. It's so cute...

I don't really drink that much either. My sister and I would when we went camping, simply because we were in the woods to stay for awhile, and hadn't any responsibilities (other than not burning down the woods,

)

If it is VERY hot out, I'll have a beer or two (I can only drink it if it is very hot out and the beer is very very cold - otherwise I really don't like beer). Once in awhile at night I'll have a rum and cola - and that's about it,

just one. Although when my mom came down this last summer I got her and I both going on Margaritas (Tequila is my nemesis - but I love tequila,
lau.gif
I just don't drink it very often for that reason )

Hubby is an alcoholic - he's been sober for 17 years, now, so I don't really shove it in his face, too often. We've discussed it, and I asked him if he minds if I drink now and then, he said no, cause I don't get drunk, really, except once every three years or so

.
If I get a good buzz going (which is pretty easy for me) I'm good for the evening.

That's too bad about the BR. I hope mine hatch out ok - I'm getting very nervous.

ETA - my mom is so much more fun when I've had tequila (and way more fun when she has too

I'm planning on Thursday to bring all of 3 chicks to you so far...And I thought I'd have at least 12 by now, but guess it's not in the plan. Was going to bring Belles but mom said to leave them with her and that they'd be okay. So when they get older you can still have them if you want... I'm going to keep my 6 wk black silkie here in the garage also. Ron doesn't mind it because it doesn't cheep really loud, just trills and peeps to you when she's in the house...That doesn't bother him. I know I should put it outside now but want to wait til I have a door on that new doghouse to use it for the new chicks. And my red hillbilly coop I built is going to be used for newbies as well.

Wish I had power back at the coops so I can built the other big one now...As it stands I have to measure and go back to the house and cut then take it back and put up, then measure and repeat.

You know how my other coop is built under the leanto? Well I thought about just building another one on the front of it going the other way(kind of making an "L") so I can used the left side of the leanto thats fenced for a small run for young ones and new ones. And make that coop 8x8 or 8X12. Then I can attatch the roof going the opposite angle as the leanto. I can put in 2 hatches, one on the fenced side and one on the other side. Then I'm thinking about going out away from the back right corner of the leanto about 30-40 ft then down about 20ft then back to the original fencing. That way they'd have plenty of freerange space and I won't have to keep running them back onto our land, and I can fence off part of it to grow them some weeds to hide in and plant them another tree in.

Well, IM me your address so I can play with my GPS Thursday when I come over.

And Shelley I need you to IM me your address too.

Well after much reading in the last hour, I think I'm going to build an open front chicken house in front of the other one or in the front of the right end of the leanto(this way is cheaper, no roofing to have to buy) since it rarely rains in at that angle. I think I would rather have it well ventilated over it being cold. Bluedog has small open front coops along the back of his barn and he said the bantams do fine through the winters. So wish me much luck...
