I saw some bourbon reds at the auction last week, my are they beautiful!! I might try and find some black spanish hens, though I was really planning on having only one breed. He might be dinner sometime, who knows?

Sometimes when breeding slate turkeys you end up with blacks, so I would think it would be like the blues in chickens, half would be blue and half would be black, or something like that!

The black tom/bourbon hen would probably get something like the bronze turkeys, I would think. It would be interesting to find out! I wonder if that guy still has those turkeys at the sale? They looked to be two hens....Someone stop me!! I don't need that many birds!!

Hello new forum and all this. My family and I have a small flock of 40 Golden Comet Hens ( and their BF's) a few RIR. Also have several bunnies, and are raising nightcrawlers and red wigglers. From North Central Ky, interested in trading and getting diffferent breeds. Really for some good guineas and Peafowl. Prefer to deal in State. Take care and Merry Christmas to all

Well, I managed to catch 3 goonies - sold them for 20 bucks.

I have a pair left - naturally the really loud hen is still here - she won't be caught.

The poor hen I sold, I was tryign to catch her and I pulled out her tail feathers

They'll grow back, but still, I felt bad.

Where is the auction at? Any info appreciate we oly have 2 swaps a year that I know of where I am located at. Thanks

The auction I was referring to is in Sano, It's the Sano goat and sheep auction, but there are all sorts of critters there. It is held every Friday night, and usually starts by 5 pm. It's in Russell Co., I think, but could be Adair Co. It's right near the line, so not sure what side it's on.

Those are two of the three in the building (the other's a male). I'm so excited!! I hope they keep it up, and they are fertile! Only having a trio is not going to do me much good!

I am also interested i buying Guineas, Peafowl and other animals. New on here as I am sure is painfully obvious. Is there and way a forum can be set up for Kentucky items for sale/trade/to good home? Yeah sorry for the new guy questions

Did you let them in the coop? Or did you just try to catch them in the trees?

I tried to get them into the coop - but ended up getting three of them to go into the banty run (I shooed the banties into the coop and shut them in). But Donna Lou and the other Roo wouldn't go into the run, so they ended up staying. I guess I'll just keep those two.
