Nope, that was Meri (chiknmama). I don't have anyplace to put more roos right now! And I don't have any bantam cochins, so I would need a roo if I got some!

That was me - I got two roos, one white/buff and one mottled. I'm breeding the mottled, so I got the extra (hoss) white one. He is not pure white, he has buff hackles and some green feathers in his tail. He might have been a mix of buff columbian and white - he's pretty, but not really fluffy, more hard feathered than he ought to be for breeding, I think. He's a sweetie, though.

My hens I have are a black and a mottled - I also have one black hen that I'm not sure if I'll be putting her back into the breeding cell or not - she had "the funk", and I'm not sure if she's over it or not. Not a blasted one of them has laid an egg yet - unless Etta (the funky black) laid some in the banty coop, and I just don't know it is hers.

I had a beautiful roo - he was a dark blue with red hackles, he died

eta - come spring I'm supposed to first on the list for some of msbear's columbian bantam cochin eggs. Her birds are gorgeous!!

Meri, that mottled roo is so super fluffy! He is just a cutey! Does he have the 'bustle' feathers on his tail? It's hard to tell from that pic.
I think I'm getting some eggs from Dipsey doodle doo, but I'm not sure. These are cochin/frizzled cochin, sizzles and *possible* Naked neck frizzles. I hope not! Cris saw the pics of the NN, and he says 'EWWWW!'

Thank GOD!!!

Those are the ugliest birds! I just knew he would love them, and just HAVE to have them!

Oh, btw, I made some fudge. It seems like it might be ok, but it will be a bit gritty! I didn't think that I would have to cook the 'chocolate' (sugar cocoa and shortening combo)!! So the sugar that was in that mess is still sugar! Oh well!! I'll know better next time!

Yeah, I'll be busy this week making fudge, cookies, other candy, pies, etc....

Yeah me and the kid are making some sugar cookies tomorrow. I'm thinking of using some cake frosting on them, that would work right? Too bad we don't have any cookie cutters. I had some that I got with some jello last year, but they must have been sent to the Goodwill when we moved back up here. I didn't bring hardly anything like that with me!

I still need to get some pie stuff, I won't be able to do much, since my check just got here. It will take either 5 or 10 days to clear, and they will only let me get $100 out of it. At least that's what they did last time. I hope so this time, cause I need to pay my satellite!! It was due the 18th, and it's almost $70

Don't need that getting shut off! It took them forever to turn it on in the first place! So much BS to deal with! If it gets shut off it will probably take them a couple of months to get it straightened back out!

Too bad you're not closer, I have some powdered stuff you put into the frosting and it sets up tighter. (makes it hard, cannot think of the name of it right now... I think it is "Royal Icing" or something like that) I use it to make Sugar Skulls for day of the dead. If you can get to savealot, they had some green cookie icing in tube.

I had to buy a cookie cutter to make the gingerbread men, cause I lost all of my cookie cutters in the move, too. I'll be making those this week (probably tomorrow since it's gonna be nasty outside, anyway).

Neighbor called, he's coming over after 3 dozen eggs tomorrow.
Woohoo!!

My hand is killing me!! if I push on this one spot on my wrist, it stops hurting, so I know it must be a pinched nerve - hope it un-pinches by tomorrow. It's like having a charlie horse in my hand!! ouch!

Oh, btw Shelley - Etta has adopted those blue splash babies I got from ya
lau.gif
they all sleep piled under and beside her in a nest box in the banty coop. It is so funny to see them, and so sweet.

Cochins are such sweet mamas - even when it isn't their babies.
The blue splashes are old enough not to be "babies" but they are smaller than her, and crave the warmth, and she is happy to oblige.

I have some muscle cream someplace around here - will have to find it.

I was hoping if I typed enough it would loosen up - and it has slightly, but not nearly enough to make it comfortable.

I have a few of those heat wraps still from Cindy and the eggs
lau.gif
thought about putting one of those on it.
