Mojo Chick'n :

Well, I went out to the coops this morning, and Miss Piggy had moved all the eggs and chicks to the end of the brooder bin that is under the heat lamp - so she could get out and dust bathe and eat something

I guess she isn't as dumb as I thought.

One of those Brahmas girls I brought home yesterday laid an egg for me this morning

(I overslept, was up WAY too late last night).

Never had good luck with a red roo - (had new hampshire reds) - they are very aggressive,

hope your poor little leghorns can handle one. Not sure why - must be the "red head" thing

I had too many red roos, though - stomped the necks of nearly every one of them buggars. gave two away to a guy who wanted to eat them. Tried to butcher one here, but it was too tough to eat.

That's odd, I thought it was there this morning when I got on.

It was, but it's not anymore!! They even deleted the one in the other fowl forum!! I can't believe that!

I'm gonna be in troubbbbbbbbble!

Well, it started out on the other fowl forum. I was cruising ebay (naturally) and found an auction for peafowl eggs that was just the prettiest color I've ever seen. I posted the link to it in other fowl, and monarc23 responded (of course!). Anyway, she starts in asking how old I am, and we went on from there. I asked for that thread to be moved, since we got way off topic. That one got locked, so we started a new one in RR. We were talking about how old we were, then it would go to all our aches and pains, then we would talk about how we couldn't keep up with what everyone else was saying, it was just very, very random!! And it was soo much fun!! I can't believe they deleted it, but it doesn't surprise me. There was absolutely no useful info on there whatsoever!!! We were just all tired and having a blast!

Hello everyone we live in South Central Ky and have 4 ladies (2 buff orp's,1 slash cochin,1 brahma) and 1 brahma boy.
They are 9 weeks old and have been out in the coop and run for about 2 weeks. I am still having to gather them right before dark and lift them into the coop. A couple of them will climb the walkway when I bribe them. My question is when will they start going in on their own? I'm afraid I'm going to scare them by having to catch them and before they went outside they were used to being held.

Welcome to the Kentucky thread. We get a little zany here sometimes.

Well if they are used to being held, then they are still looking for that by you. Yes they will eventually go in themselves, but sometimes they might want a little encouragement from their human.
