sammy just came over to get his teeth brushed for bed - he asked if school had been closed yet.

I was wondering the same thing! I would say they probably will cancel it, since we are supposed to be getting more bad weather, though it looks like all we are going to get here is rain. I'm thinking I'll just not turn the alarm on, they'll probably call it off. That way I can sleep longer, and don't have to run the risk of accidentally waking the kid up at 6:30!​

the temps are supposed to dump before morning, and then this'll all turn to snow tomorrow. Thankfully Jon has tomorrow off.

He got out a little early tonight, they closed early, and I saw more trees down going in to pick him up tonight than were down when I left to take him in to work earlier.

I stopped on the way home to grab some snacks, and I'm gonna hibernate tomorrow - other than chores, I aint leaving the house.

Maybe I'll walk down to Grant's and get me some soda there, if I have that much money! I could saddle up one of the horses, my luck they would dump me on my butt somewhere and leave me for dead!

Have you noticed with all the new people signing up for BYC we have a lot of snarky little sh!ts?

I've seen at least two posts today where someone had a legitimate concern and people have come on with sarcastic comments that had nothing (or little) to do with the original post.

Why dont the mods jump on them? they sure do find ME if I say anything out of line.


eta - the posts these folks made were ridiculing the OP, too - made me sort of ticked.

I haven't noticed that so much as people going way off topic in areas! That is aggravating. I started a swap for quail eggs, I keep needing to go in and find the 'offers' there is so much chit-chat that the offers get buried! But there are always some that do that, just pop in with any old thing. It is really aggravating!​

Well, day two... now we got snow

The ducks and the two BA (Mooney and Oreo) are the only birds to come out of the coop so far. Mooney and Oreo simply because they had to

and the ducks ... well, so they could swim in the slush puddle , of course

.

Jr. did come out briefly - stood in the middle of the slush puddle, squawking her head off, wondering why her feet were so cold (she ain't right in the head) then I walked over there and was gonna go down to feed, and she ran back down to the coop, finally.

Until it warms up a bit, I think the chickens will probably stay inside today - that wind isn't very nice, either. Poor donkeys are all covered in wet snow on their backs - they're all down hiding under the trees this morning, behind the lower coop. Probably wishing the chicken corral was down and they could go in and eat some yummy chicken feed under the heat lamp.

Oh, Shelley, before I forget... Craigslist, Bowling Green - some guy has a lot of bantam hens and pullets for sale 6 bucks each or all of them for 50 bucks - he had a red pyle hen. He is over by Glasgow. Apparently his rooster froze to death.

Well, I just let Toby out, and I don't see the ducks out there, either, they probably went back into the coop under the heat lamp to warm up a bit after that morning slush bath.

was it the one that said that her chickens will be just fine that they are survivors or something like that. I know what you mean its like my jap contest they talked up to 5 pages about a persons two male japs that she thought they were a pair. then appologized at the end!​

Yeah, and telling her she ought to worry about the economy and not her chickens - umm, excuse me SHE started the thread - if ya want to whine about losing your job, start your own thread.
