[As soon as I would clear an area, though, George and his girls would come in and scratch up the ground for me, looking for bugs

. It was funny watching them follow me, waiting til I cleared a space, then running in to be the first to look for bugs.

My girls do that as well. and actually expect me to do yard work for their benefit everytime I come outside. They also wonder why I fence off the garden with all that lovely fresh dirt to scratch in.

I also cut down two big wild rose bushes (those things are horrible, too!!).

Growing up we had an old rose bush that went wild and quit blooming. It grew very large and finally dad cut it down with a brush hog. Latter that summer it had the most beautiful large blooms. Sometimes pruning does a world of good.

Ya know, looking at the area I cleared, I already want to expand on that waterfowl pen

- another 10 foot across wouldn't cost much more, would it?

Lord no!! Thankfully, my 4 y/o, the resident weird-bird-lover, thinks they are 'EWWWW' in his words! That's good, since he seems to like every other kind that is kind of different!

Hey Shelley!!!! Thought I'd give you a shout out... Cris doing okay? You know you can still come visit even though I no longer have any chickens...Well except Duchess, and we can't catch her so I guess she will truly be a wild(feral) chicken...

Hey Cindy! Cris is his usual self, always full of energy! Did you see that I've finally started getting duck eggs? Well, I have gotten 2 anyway! Not much for 4 ducks. There would have been 3 at least, but Princess found the nest for us

If I can ever find your house, I'll surely be over there! You can always come visit us too, to get your chicken fix

I had a great day when gathering eggs today. I have 7 hens and got 6 eggs, the most as of yet. I do have too many roosters though I have 6 of those lol. Oh and 30 baby chicks and a bator loaded down.

Shelley, I'll be getting some ducks eggs to hatch this week, so I may need to bend your ear a bit. Luckily I have two bators to use so one for the chickens and one for ducks!

Gonna try and go back to the Shepherdsville Swap this Saturday and see if the guy I bought my Silkie from is there again. I need to find out some information about her if I can. I was so excited I forgot to ask him some questions. Silkies will do that to you.
