... Oh wait I have to see how much first... I'm sure it would be much cheaper than the one from Washington would be though.

Oh good that's great to know, thanks, I was kinda worried about finding what I want and them being too young. You saw my coop it gets good and warm anyway with the angle of the front window. I'll have to stick the ladder back in against the perch I guess...Good thing you didn't take the ladder huh. I think instead of getting a waterer this time I'm just going to buy one of those black rubber bowls for now...It worked well as an extra last time and easier to dump and refill in the winter. I can just set it on a block in the coop in winter or get one of those freeze proof bowls that don't need electricity. I'm gonna use pie pans for feeders. I'm so creative huh. Not gonna get into the expense again, although still gonna fill them a medicine bin again. Still have a can for feed, whoot! Gonna have to go back there and see what else is left, clean out the old shavings, repair the fence where I cut it to get that doghouse out for you, hmmm what else...

I'm soooo excited to get my 3 hens...hehe!

When I put fancy dishes outside for the free-rangers, they always drink out of the yucky duck pool, anyway

If ya just got three hens (for now

) then simple is probably best. Now, when ya get back up to ten or twelve.... we'll go shopping

My stupid chickens drink from the duck pool too! They have clean water in the waterers right next to the pool, but they prefer the chocolate water...

I'll grab two or three, so you can pick one out - and maybe that way we'll get one girl out of the three

I'll just find homes for the extras when they get older.

Not sure how much the ameracaunas were - I know how much she told me on the buff orps, but not sure if the others are the same price or not. I'll let you two work it out.

yeah, one of my pools is under a tree - so it turns a lovely shade of green. The other is out in the open, and it turns "chocolate"

YUCK!!

When I go to change water, though, I am mobbed by 20 or so ducks and three geese waiting for me to hurry and do it. Some of them don't wait til it's done and will jump in under the water spraying out of the hose.

Then there's the "drinking" water bins (yeah. right. drinking water...) - which also double as bathing dishes for the ducks.

And the lovely puddle made by emptying out the pools - that's always fun to play in....

Oh that's right...Wait til I let you know for sure cause I am only allowed pullets, as per my agreement with Ron. I forgot it is hard to tell with those til they get older, I was just lucky that my two BBS AMs turned out to be girls way back then. I may have to put it off a little longer on the AM til I can find an older one that is for sure a pullet. Darn!!

I put the two "for sure" BA pullets down into the lower coop - along with two BR that I was not sure of sex - they aren't as dark as the girls, but not as light as the boys. I have one other BA that I think is a girl, but I'm not sure - she's getting wattles already, and I had one fool me like that before.

I just tossed the extra BR down there because I can sell those anyday (boy or girl), and figured to leave em in with the keepers for now. I'll make sure you get one of the nice dark girls.

Hmm.... I do have a LF cochin girl - she's black. She's about 3 months old - I was gonna toss her into the free rangers, just for broodiness qualities. I grabbed her by accident while grabbing BA. Not sure if ya want a cochin or not, though.

Hey guess what, it only gets better!!! A friend that lives in Burkesville has convinced Ron that I actually need 6 hens for a good laying flock...Course that means I'll be gettin a few from them too. They got my 2 Brilkie babies, and the mixes I hatched I had in the brooder when I dissipated my flock. Yeah I would be interested in the Cochin, I'll just give up on the Ameraucana idea til I can get a definite girl. I want my girls to be where some lay almost daily and some not as often so I don't get too loaded up with eggs.

The Casadas would take the male BA too if you need to get rid of it, they are good folks and the chickens happily freerange continuously over 5 acres plus a huge field across the street. Bill hooks up an electric line on the ramp going up in the main sleeping tree at night now when the chickens have gone to bed and unhooks it before they wake in the morning...So now if any fox or other predator gets hungry it'll get a good shock before it has a chance to get up the ramp. Their chickens don't know what a real chicken house is, even though there is one available for them cause they will only sleep in the trees and there are ALOT of trees for them there.

Howdy there Cindy...Long time no chat...Glad to see you are getting more chicken's...woo hoo

Hi, yeah I'm excited that I get a few...Not like before though. But thats okay, I'll take what I can get. You'll need to take pics of the babies you get out of that breeding when they get a little older.
