GREAT JOB THERE!!! You really are smart...

Just kidding. Proud of you for continuing your education... I was doing it once and ended up including it in our bankruptcy, thought I had to include everything financed, found out later I could have kept that... Was in my 3rd semester on a 2yr degree for early childhood education.

None yet, but about to have 6 hens total... Had a whole flock of about 40 chickens, last year and had to sell them due to a family situation. Now I get to start over. Only up to 6 hens though was the agreement with hubby, no roos. If I didn't have friends like I do here I would have a hard time finding what I wanted in hen/pullet only.
Used to trade with Bluedog... He gave my son a guinea keet once...OMG that thing was ugly when it grew up...And scared of heights believe it or not, would throw a fit when it would fly on top of the leanto cause it couldn't figure out how to get back down. Now it is all pro...lives in the trees at a friends, but won't blend with the other guineas, still thinks it's a chicken.

Thanks everyone, I'm really surprised that I'm doing so well. I guess it's because I have to pay for it this time

My GPA in high school was 2.9 I think, so 3.5 is much better! I'll have to bring it back up though, I liked it being 3.7......that sounds very smart!

So did you get Sam to the bus station okay? I got those girls in a cage waiting for you....I'll be here, so if I don't answer (if you call first) I'm probably outside. Not only do I have to feed all my animals (which takes a good 45 minutes at least), but I'm taking care of dad's dogs, chickens, and pigeons. So it takes a little bit

Caught em while you could so you don't have to chase em down huh? Chasing is so much fun though

I had to catch these, they disappear during the day! I would have had no idea where to look for them! They keep me guessing everyday if they were all 3 still here, but then I would see them when they came to roost. That lakenvelder roo really liked these girls, so they would hide in the woods all day

Meri~~Here's a link to some chukar trays like the bigger one that I had. They work good for the coturnix's eggs.
Chukar trays

You might want to shop around and see if you can find any cheaper, but this place sells them as few as each piece. Most others I've found, you have to order at least 50 of them. The full trays hold 50 eggs, the one I have is half of one.

Congratulations Shelley!! Good luck with the rest of it as well.

I just took some new pics of my little flock, but I can't find the cord to my camera

. It's probably in with all the stuff I brought home from school. I'll post some pics when I find it.

Meri, we are missing Feathers, but none of us as much as Pumpkin. Now she has taken to try to find another "buddy" and keeps trying to shadow some of the other pullets. Plus, when I hold any of the others she just has to jump up and get on my lap as well. It is endearing.
Now I just can't wait until they all lay so I can know 100% they are all girls.

Awww poor girl.

Feathers is fitting in great here - he is even making friends with Bubba (the only one I had doubts on being friends, Bubba thinks he is top roo

) They never did fight at all, but now they hang out and flirt with the girls together

I'll have to check that out later - I got home and hubby is gonna put me to work weed wacking

I told him I had to check email first

I do need to wack around the coop, though, to make it look better - I got Cindy coming tomorrow and another lady coming for ten chickens tomorrow, too - good thing I did the running today.

Had another call on chickens while I was gone, too- lady wants a dozen!! I hope I have that many left

I better go count heads. I got eggs in the bator and younger chicks, but am running lower on the started ones.

I really need a cabinet incubator.

She's coming for chickens - was probably who was trying to call ya when we got to your place and ya didn't answer the phone
lau.gif

She said she is coming later in the day, cause she has something to do first. If ya call her cell phone, she ought to answer, they are on their way somewhere else today, too.

I'm thinking I'll just catch BC tonight when I close coops and stick her over into the keeper coop - that way I can let everyone else out without a fight tomorrow.

It didn't show her on the caller ID, maybe she wants to chase the chickens when she gets here?

It was some telemarketer....

Hey, if you want some eggs, I should have them this weekend. I have some to send, but they would be ready to send on Thursday....not a good idea to send them when they would arrive at their destination on the 4th. So I think I'll wait till Friday or Monday to send them, I should have at least a couple of days' worth if you want some.
