Well it wasn't dark when I started for home from Shelley's but is was dark by the time I got to Burkesville. I kept wondering why the setting sun was on my right side as I was driving along instead of my left.

But all in all it was worth it for me, got to see some friends, have an enjoyable afternoon away from the big city, saw some pretty country and my van got a good work out. Now I know that it will be okay for the road trip to the chickenstock in August.

And I guess Christian has decided that I am okay to be with, he finally warmed up to me. In fact he didn't want to see me go, so I promised him a trip to McDonalds when I come down the next time so he would let me leave.

On the way back I did pick up another KY Map for future road trip explorations.

Hatch is going great so far - only about 22 eggs left to hatch out of 77, and those are pipping and rocking.

I also hatched out two baby chicks

forgot they were due and left them in the turner in the incubator - I moved the other four chicken eggs to the hatcher with the quail eggs, and put the two that hatched into the brooder bin with the quail.

They are still laying around, so they won't harm the baby quail yet. Although the quail might hurt them

One of those little boogers had ahold of another baby quail's wing and was dragging him around!! mean little cuss.

I'll let ya know what the final tally is on the quail hatching. Probably won't be finished 'til tomorrow morning.

What on earth are you going to do with so many quail??

Not trying to run me out of business, are you?

I can get another 4 days' by Friday, or 5 days on Saturday. Maybe you could take me to Sano and pick the eggs up when you drop me off??

Unless of course you want 5 days, then you'd have to get them either late on Saturday (like after 7 pm) or sometime Sunday.

Come to think of it, you probably wouldn't be able to pick all of them up after Sano, since you have to feed your babies.....unless hubby lets you go alone

The jumbos seem to lay pretty late, I sometimes get some of their eggs for the day in the morning of the next day, cause they lay so late.​
