Mojo Chick'n :
I'll probably go over the day before to set up the canopy at your house, Shelley, so all I have to do is come and set up the grill and such the next day and not fight with figuring that out. I'll just set it up and leave the grill and whatever else there until the next day.

That's fine, then you can get these quail too, if you don't already have them by then.
I decided to let Hollywood (bantam cochin) and his family out yesterday (since Cris decided to hit their door with his bike and pop it open). It was not pretty
First, Charlie decided he was going to come show Hollywood who was boss, then one of Charlie's girls (RIR) decided to show one of Hollywood's girls who was boss. Eventually, both the hens and the 2 chicks decided it was better to be inside the tractor. But Goldie (lakenvelder) was trying to show Hollywood who was boss
Cris finally caught Hollywood and got him back in the tractor, so all was well. Guess I'll just have to keep waiting till late to let Hollywood and his family out of the tractor
At least the millie roo leaves Hollywood alone, he finally got whooped by him
And the jap roo is so easy going, he doesn't really care who's out there. So later in the day, when most all the other birds are roosting, is much safer
I kicked the baby goonies and those 3 chicks off the porch yesterday, though I had to clean that chicken house out first
I had to wrap a towel around my face just so I could breathe, and I
still had to come out and get a fresh breath every now and then. It was so nasty!!
I don't know how anyone can let animals live like that, the crap on the floor must have been 5" deep under the roosts
So anyway, the only ones left on the porch are the 4 quail that were in there with the goonies and chicks. They'd be in the coop too, but the run is chain-link. I'm sure they would have no trouble getting through that, so they'll have to wait till I get some more cages.
I've finally gotten smart regarding the chicks in the house. They have one of those older type waterers, the ones that just sit on the base? Anyway, seems every time I clean their box, one of the chicks decides it's a good idea to try and roost on top of the waterer, thus spilling water all over the fresh, dry bedding.
So last night I took a usps box that I have, 'made' the box, cut the top of the box out, and stuck it in there, with fresh bedding. So now they can spill their water all they want, and they'll still have a dry place under the light to sleep. At least until the box gets wet.
So I think that's it for new happenings, good morning everyone!!
(bit late for morning, but I usually get up around now
)
