Kentucky people

I don't know who won what at the fair. Yolanda had chickens there, I didn't recognize anyone else's names.

I was pleasantly supprised to find that two more of the last three eggs hatched out late monday to make it 20 of 21 eggs that hatched. That is neat.

I think I will set one more group then call it a season until spring when these are old enough to lay. That should be around late March to early May.

I should start culling around Mid November through New Years. I still haven't found my egg eaters. ARG!

I may need to start culling sooner.

I've got some guinea eggs in the bator, and still need to hatch some quail (for me), but I 'think' I'll be done hatching for a while after that. I so don't want to have chicks in the house all winter. That bedroom where the incubators and brooders are is so dusty!! I need to clean it badly!

Oh yeah, but I traded some button eggs for some silkies, and I've got another trade in a week or so of coturnix for bantam cochins.....so I guess it'll be a bit longer

Not great pics - Michelle is still nervous to have everyone crowding her baby, and as soon as I go out there I am mobbed (you can see Spooky checking out her new baby sister in the one pic

And, just because they were all in one place...

Smart-a$$

Cristian is back in school now, so I get up at like 6:15
It would be nice to go back to sleep, but then I'd just be up all night

I am technically not even done with chores this morning - I have to go check on chickens and quail and make sure they have food this morning. I fed and watered them last night, because they are all stuck inside for the day. The ducks and geese are out, but the chickens are IN (naughty girls!!)

I got all of ONE egg again yesterday, and I couldn't find any hidey places, so they get to stay in until they re-learn to lay in the nest boxes. Gonna be harder on me than them, probably

The coyotes went crazy last night around 1AM - we were already out there, because we heard the donkeys doing their "something's up" braying, so we figured Michelle was having her baby. After Maggie lost hers, I was relieved to see the baby laying with it's head up and looking around when we got out there.

It looked black last night, but is a dark grey this morning once she dried off. I wasn't even sure until this morning if it was a boy or a girl.
Now I just need a name for her.

Yeah, I haven't done chores yet either, I wait till about 10 or so, that way they don't 'starve to death' on the days Cris doesn't have school and I lay in the bed all morning!! I so want to go back to sleep, but I can't, I've got finals this week, and I have eggs to wrap that need to mail out, plus I forgot to take my 'note' and stick it in the mail box so the carrier will come to the house and get the eggs; so I get to walk all the way back out to the road and do that too.
I went to sleep right around 10 pm last night, which is very early for me!! But I am so drained this morning. It's probably allergies, I just love cooler weather

I think I went to bed around 9:30ish - I was so tired last night.

Lucky I woke up when the donkeys went nuts, I was just rolling over in bed and must have uncovered my head enough to hear them

I keep waking up about an hour before my alarm goes off, which is really aggravating!! It doesn't matter what time I go to sleep (last night being around 10, night before was around 3), I still wake up an hour before the alarm. I guess my body doesn't understand 'daylight savings time'
roll.png

But thanks to me going to bed so early, when I did wake up I was able to get my kid out of my back so I could turn over and let my leg wake up
hmm.png
If I had slept until the alarm went off, dad would have been back here yelling at me to shut it off, and I would have been lame!!

My whole leg was dead!

Well, Camille the heifer stays here, and Mookie is gonna stay as freezer camp nominee - the others are all gonna go to the sale when they are big enough. I also will have about a dozen more before I'm done. I want to take ten at a time to the sale, so I have 8 to go to sale at the moment (when they're bigger) need a dozen more to make two groups of ten.
