I guess I'm just in "one of those moods" today - but at this point, I am ready to kill the geese, send the dogs and the teenager to Alaska, and just go to bed and think about getting rid of every other animal on the farm tomorrow.
Fred and Lucy attacked one of my Buff Orp pullets (not the ones I got from Sydney, but the younger one - still hasn't laid an egg yet, is pale combed STILL!!! stoop!d bird) They not only attacked her, they together chased her down, while holding onto her back feathers, and shoving her into the ground - she was running and trying to get loose, and they would not let go until I smacked them both. They were so intent on killing this chicken that they never even heard me coming and yelling at them.
She is not harmed, but her back feathers torn up and a few fell out when I picked her up - she just stood there and let me grab her, she was in shock, poor thing.
I can see them grabbing a tail feather or two in passing - they are geese, after all - but that was totally uncalled for and it shocked the heck out of me.
Stoop!d dogs ticked me, off, too - Toby was out in the calf pen barking at the calves, and Lily was standing outside (she's afraid of the hotwire) barking too. Could have cheerfully kicked their heads up their butts today, too. The calves were mooing for dinner, I guess Toby was telling them to shut up.
Was talking to a friend on the phone, and reminded me of something the teenager said that so totally ticked me off that I am still mad about it every time it comes up. (I told the kid to find a place to live with his friends, and I'd pay the little sh!t to move up there - I'm tired of his attitude.)
Got halfway through painting and it poured rain - just long enough to mess us up. Thankfully the paint is fine, but still - I could have been done with it if it hadn't have rained. Now I get to make another mess tomorrow and be covered in paint yet again (we're power spraying it, the overspray is unbelievable when the wind is blowing).
Kids, Dogs, Poultry - they can all get bent as far as I'm concerned today.
ARRRRRRRGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
