How cute! But are you sure your BR is a cockerel? It's pretty dark to be a male... Do the legs have dark shading up the fronts? You may have you a girly there. Some just develop their combs quicker than others.

I agree, the markings surely suggest girl on that one!

The phone lines are fixed!!

The phone company guy said it's a wonder the phone was working at all, he said it wasn't even really hooked up!

I guess it was spliced into someone else's thing (which explains the background voices), but the line wasn't hooked into where it was supposed to be. So it should be working right now.

Dad's truck is finally fixed, sort of. My cousin came over yesterday and put a new fuel pump in it, and it's running great. Of course, in order to change the fuel pump they had to take the bed off, so dad got the bright idea that he's going to put a flatbed on it

So it's still not driveable, since it now has NO TAIL LIGHTS!!

I swear that man is aggravating!!

ETA: I went and ordered the OSB board I'll need for my building yesterday, and they are supposed to deliver it by Thursday morning. We should have enough lumber (2x4, 2x6, etc.) for the rest of it, so it should be good to go! I wish dad had a bed on his truck so we could go get some blocks to set it up on

Can't put them in his crappy car.

I have no problem with dropping the birds off, we can meet over by the stockyards to make the switch, for both the birds and the bread. I intend on making the trip early so as to get through all the construction zones while dealing with the morning traffic. By the way I was at the swap week before last but I didn't see you there. Do you set up inside or outside?

For anyone interested, you can take your birds as early as the day before, but all small animals need to be in something they can stay in, they don't want people to lose their animals transfering cages. I used banana boxes with wire last spring, though I wouldn't recommend that. If they get wet (luckily, mine did not) they would fall apart. You could reinforce the bottom of the box with something, in case it did get wet. But they must be in a cage that they don't have to be taken out of

Most of my barn is dry now that we installed new gutters but it's still wet near the coop and with goats and chickens and ducks all running around plus two GP dogs, it gets stinky when it's wet.....

Sunshine gave up her brooding in favor of Wynonna... Now Wynonna is stealing eggs out of the other nesting boxes....

Still no babies from my pygmy does..... They all look ready to burst.... At least twins from two out of the three.... I really thought the full moon would have pushed them over the edge.... I hate it when you get animals and you don't know their breeding date to know if they're over due or not.... Ella has almost no ligs left and I'm sure it will be any time now... She's the only one that's VERY lovey dovey and will let me check her....

That is besides the two spoiled rotten twins from Ella this past Feb.... Rotten is such a nice word for them... they love to lick and nibble on me anytime I'm out in the barn area...

Just wanted to say hello Kentuckians! I moved "across the river" to southern Indiana about three years ago, but still think of myself as a Kentuckian. My son was laughing at me because I was so adament that Missouri was a border state to our west, and he was like "NO!! Illinois is to the west!" DUHHHH...I STILL forget that I live in Indiana now!
