Knew it had to be getting close for hatch. Sorry about your Barnvelders. Once you are established I may have to get a dark layer of some breed off you... By that time I'll know who's gonna pull their weight in my girls and who will be going out to the lake.

Put the Marans with some of your other brown/tan eggers... The offspring will lay a little darker than their mothers. I would buy a couple of those mixes. Ron has relaxed on my total of girls but I still don't want more than a dozen total... Just to keep the feed bill low ya know.

ETA: Plus right now I only have to carry back about 3 gal of water a day instead of 10 gal. Wanna keep it that way

cthrash1 -- you can do Angel Food on-line.... It never fails that pick-up day is right before my payday and I never made it back there during their ordering and then I noticed that they had started allowing you to order on-line... LOVE IT!!! Now I can just pick the order up and then order the next months when I get paid.....

I think I'm gonna place an order for babies come Feb -- I really want the CC Marans and Welsummers and some White Midget Turkeys.... DH is gonna kill me with the order but I love the babies....

I have those babies of Miss Piggy's (not hers, but she hatched and raised) Three pullets and a little rooster. I also have some smaller chicks they can get if they want - they are only about 6 weeks old or so, though, but I can tell who's a girl and who's a boy out of them already (a couple have green legs). I have them out in the coop, so they could put them into a coop, also, if they wanted to. Some of those are white rock mixes (might get the delaware pattern, also).

Hey Chuck: Speaking of my Placo... Would you be interested in him when the Jack crosses rainbow Bridge? After the Jack is gone we are going to start over in that tank and buy a net full of different colored African Cichlids and the pet shop guy said the Placo may eat them because they would be intruders in his little world(protecting his property).

I made it into a flair on facebook (I also made it into a limited edition one, it's being voted on whether to publish or not - I have three votes so far).
It looks better on the square limited edition one, but I also put it on a round button that is up for grabs right now.

I've made a lot of flair the last two days (been wasting some time on facebook

if ya look at my page, a lot of the flair on mine is what I made (not all of it, a lot I grabbed, but the voodoo ones in particular are mine - most of them, anyway).

Oh yeah, guess what? One of my pekins is setting on eggs
barnie.gif
Dad said she has about 25 eggs under her, but that's not the best part. The BEST part is that half of them are CHICKEN EGGS!!

I told him he should have pulled the chicken eggs, she can't have been setting for more than a day or two. I just yesterday noticed her 'missing'. Crazy bird, guess I'll have to make a house for her to keep her babies in

Okay, one more, then I'll quit

My buttons are being stinkers lately

I KNOW they are doing it on purpose. I have a brooder in the spare room with about 25 coturnix chicks in it. I've had to cover it, cause the buttons have decided that it's fun to make their 'hehehe' noise and scare the coturnix chicks to death!! I know they are doing it on purpose, they never make noise at night. They are probably just waiting till they can't see movement in the babies brooder, then they'll sound off and scare them to death
