Oh!! Congrats on the baby girl!! That is so cool that you guys have done that for some sweet little angel!!

I told my dad about the pigeon's, and he sounded interested, but I don't know where Summersville is. What part of the state is it? I guess I could google it...

<edit> I'll go ahead and take them all, just let me know when to come get them! Pm me with details.

Well, Shelley and I went to the auction tonight. I had fun.

I called her Cindy once when I got excited to show her something, LOL otherwise I didn't have any stoopid moments.

I came home without the roos - and without buying anything !! :o can ya believe it? Hubby couldn't

He did say I ought to have gotten one of the baby pot bellied pigs I saw - NOW he tells me, why wasn't he there to tell me when I had the chance to get one ?? LOL

He said he didn't knopw where we'd keep it, but I said I could put it where the roos just vacated - he said, yeah, that would work

Hey Shelley, want to go again next week? LOL maybe the pigs will still be there.....

Oh, gotta go, Princess Bride is on and it's at my favorite part.

Peace -
Meri

Ok, I'm, back

So, Shelley's place - she has a LOT of roos and a LOT of babies, LOL. Some really pretty little ones, though.

I missed out (probably by mere moments, with my luck) on a trio of buff bantam cochins - they were pretty, too. The lady had em in a cage by her van, I asked how much, she said she just bought them

the only cochins at the sale, too.

Something just doesn't want me to buy cochins!!! I guess I'll have to be patient until Cindy has some hatched

Now I'm bummed, though, that I didn't just risk hubby having a fit and I didn't buy that piggy. I know he wants some eatin' pigs next year, but I figured a pet pig would be too much for him to take.

Oh, and there were these CUTE puppies - lab mixed with rat terrier, curly little black eyed babies, the one I was holding had puppy breath and kept licking my face, I wanted him, too. I know hubby would have had a fit about that, since our other two are inside/outside dogs, we don't have room inside for another puppy. :big sigh: I can still smell the puppy breath.

So, Shelley, if your piggy don't work out at your place, let me know and I'll buy him off ya. I see them on craig's list all the time, but not at that price.

Peace -
Meri

Yeah, like chiknmama said, I am the proud new owner of a 3 week old pot-bellied pig!! It is soo cute!! It will get to live in the rabbit side of the barn, so it can help eat the hay the silly bunnies drop on the ground!!

There was a pair of BTW japs there, but I already have 2 little cockerels, and 1 little pullet, so I figured I didn't need anymore!

I also saw a trio of black silkies, but I resisted on those as well

I like the babies better...Don't know if I'll keep mine once they get grown or not.

There were some beautiful pheasants there as well, but with all my critters, I didn't think I needed to add another type to the mix!! Not sure of the breed, but they were pretty.

I will post pics of my piggy tomorrow, after I pick up my pigeons from matt y.

Sounds like you two had fun tonight...I'm so jealous.

Well, I guess Coco has found a new owner

. He'll be much happier getting to run and run I guess. Still have to talk to them to get the plans together...We're gonna miss our baby so much...He's such a sweetheart. It's such a scary move for us to relocate him, but it's better than seeing him hit by a car...You saw how close we are to the road Meri...Not good for an active Lab.

My hubby and his dad set up there at Court Days every year with my FILs artwork...They are getting everything ready the beginning of the week so they don't have to rush last minute.

It's big and ugly and mean as heck but we love it anyways...

...Don't know if it's male or female though, most of the time in a relaxed state it has a 2 syllable sound but when it gets upset or excited it just honks really loud a bunch, sounds like our ducks almost. So what do ya think girl or boy? You probably just need to be here to know.

I've set up a few times over the years, various endeavors... Crazy with people most of us leave town these days to get away.

FYI there is a little town ,Preston a little further east on I 64, that has a sell the same weekend but its more like what court days where back in the day. Turkeys, dogs, chickens, quail, pheasants, and plenty of guns. Might be worth a look!

pop57...That sounds really neat...Hubby would have a fit if I got anything else right now...The last time he went to set up at a show a couple weeks ago he came home and found I had bought 3 pairs of Call ducks. Wasn't too pleased but he knows I'm gonna do what I want when I get my mind made up.

This auction is at the Sano goat and sheep auction barn. They usually have all sorts of fowl, and goats and sheep duh...
smile.png
Usually rabbits, and dogs/puppies. Today there were a few calves brought in, and the baby pot-bellies
big_smile.png
There were pheasants, and guineas, which are there on occasion. There is a little bit of everything, sometimes horses, but not so much right now, they aren't bringing much. Where are you at pop57?
The auction is held every Friday. Technically it starts at 6, but if you don't get there by 4, then you will usually miss the good stuff. People line up all down the drive with different things, trying to get more out of them before the auction starts. There are a lot of fresh veggies, and plants, like flowers and such there.
The auction sells just about anything. If you bring it, they'll sell it!! It is pretty fun. I bought my game roo, Charlie, for just $2 there 2 weeks ago!! This pig is the most I've ever spent on 1 animal, and it was only $15...

Here's Charlie...

<edit> It is about 10 miles east of Columbia
