So which one are you guys buying?

Not too far from you there....

Oh yea, I was pushing my luck with the rooster, anything that would be "consumed" would be completely out of the question. Those turkeys at the bottom didn't seem too bad though...

Flock Blocks are like suet cakes - but huge, block sized (like block salt sized) and they are about 8% protein, for them to peck at to keep occupied. Has sunflower seeds and other seeds and such in it.

Here let me find a link....

Looks like it might keep them happy for a bit.

Let me know if ya want any and I'll have her order enough for both of us - she said they are about 9 bucks each.

Oh, btw - the new girl is (like ya said) a snot!

but the new boy - OMG what a lover!! I walk into the coop and he comes over to greet me and stands there waiting to be petted. I need to find a good name for this guy. No wonder Nana likes him so much.

So guys, I need a good "lover" name for the new guy - any suggestions?

I think I'll call the new girl Diva

or something similar (names can be suggested for her, too). She is awfully grumpy - even to the new boy, you'd think she'd be nicer to him, they came together.

Peace -

Those flock blocks seem like something I could use, but with my finances as they are at this time, I don't think dad would go for getting them right now, even if I am going to pay him back. I will look into it next month, when I have some money!

I was thinking something like Casanova, but that's just me

Maybe Romeo?

Well I finally got my little black Cochin LucyToo used to me....She is like a cat when I'm watching everyone eat their treats, she is all around my feet trying to get me to pick her up...She was getting pushed away from the treats for a while by the Millie trio so I would grab a handful and hand feed her the treats, then it got to where she'll just hop on my hand now and eat so no one can try to get in on it and now she found it is warmer and cozier being held and cuddled...She is such a sweety.

Little Man and Raoul are still hoarse but eating like pigs as usual, but I'm worried about them because it hasn't gotten better and I didn't want to treat the whole flock. Well, today I noticed a few sneezes from other chickens so I guess I'll just treat the whole flock....You think that would be the wise thing to do? I bought an antibiotic, I think it's aereomycin(sp)...Whatever it is it says it is for different types of illnesses and lists them all, I got it because that was all they had. Think I should order something online instead?

What is wrong with them? I really don't know anything about the meds, but I would probably treat the whole bunch. If it is respiratory (seems like it with sneezing) they would probably all get it, and you wouldn't want to risk one getting it that couldn't shake it. Did you post it in the illnesses forum?

Well I had a good scare tonight. I went into dad's chicken house to help Cristian gather the eggs (that's his job now!). Anyway, my little itty bitty splash hen was sitting there on the roost like there was nothing to it!!! I about dropped dead!!! She is not even as tall as those chickens bellies!! I have no idea how she got in there!!! Dad said she must have went under the fence. There is one corner that they have taken to dirt bathing in, so the ground is a bit lower than the fence. But she is lucky I found her! Those roos would kill her trying to breed her!!

Well I didn't post yet in the illnesses forum yet because last time I posted in another forum you gave me my answer...So thought I'd ask here first this time...Been reading past topics though...I'm not totally sure which respiratory problem it is but they are not bad enough to lose weight or quit eating so thought I'd order the tylan powder and put it in their water but also give them a 1cc dose at night with a needleless injector, I just don't have the heart to give them a shot right now but probably could if the illness was bad enough.

Yeah like I said, I don't know a thing about meds!! My medicine cabinet consists of vitamin/electrolyte powder for the babies, sulmet liquid, mostly for the babies, and an antibiotic that I will probably never use!

It probably would have been warmer for her! I was just scared about the others being so big! They could eat her in three bites, and there would be nothing left!! My dad's pigeons are bigger than she is!
Dad says it's because the red pyle boys are trying to 'gang bang' her. She is still mourning her babies, and isn't interested in her roo yet, so she is fair game I guess. They chase her all over the place!

how long should she mourn her chicks? It has been almost a week, and she still hangs out by thier old cage, and comes running when she hears any type of peeping. She was even checking out the keets that were crying!

Romeo I had actually considered.
But then, Romeo was a weenie, when you really get down to it

Mercutio had more sense than Romeo, IMO. (A Plague on both your houses!!!

With Nana, her name just popped out when I was talking to her, I guess his name will just come to me, too.
