It's good to be a cat with a woodstove -

even better to be a cat with a woodstove and a BOX

FrChuck - yeah, they're sick. I am not totally sure what they have but they are getting sick one by one and dying from it - looks like either coryza or IB - not sure which. They usually get sick and die before the antibiotic has a chance to help them at all.
I lost two three weeks ago - then nothing for two weeks, now I have another sick - swollen sinuses, snotty.

Shelley - Yeah, I have a few chickens in that coop I REALLY don't want to lose. The japs, the blues, Etta, my BBReds, well, any of them, actually. Oh, and don't feel bad, I wish it wasn't me, either.

Cindy - no, the Tylan didn't do really anything. This really has me baffled, but all I know is I don't want it to spread to the other coop - I would lose them ALL then. Bad enough I have to lose half my flock. I guess I ought to be happy that whatever it is, it is contained to the one coop. Hard to be happy at all about it, though.

I just hope that if I do cull, this stuff will be gone once I disinfect the coop. Short of burning the coop down, if the Oxine doesn't kill it, nothing will, I guess.

Meri there's another post in one of the forums that give a link on the Coryza and it says in it that once the coop is cleaned and sanitized that it should sit empty for one to two months before habitating again.

Yeah, I figured once I did the deed it would have to sit empty for awhile. I thought I had read one month, but two would work, too.

Whatever it takes - I don't want to go through this again.

I think she was hiding from Mom's dogs - even though they aren't in here right now. She spent the entire day behind the TV. Only came out when they left to go over to the boy's house.

well, if ya notice, the box says FRAGILE - it is what the orp eggs came in - so maybe she's trying to send a message to those two little runt dogs.

Last time I looked she was licking herself and settling in for the night
