FrChuck - yeah, they're sick. I am not totally sure what they have but they are getting sick one by one and dying from it - looks like either coryza or IB - not sure which. They usually get sick and die before the antibiotic has a chance to help them at all.
I lost two three weeks ago - then nothing for two weeks, now I have another sick - swollen sinuses, snotty.
Shelley - Yeah, I have a few chickens in that coop I REALLY don't want to lose. The japs, the blues, Etta, my BBReds, well, any of them, actually. Oh, and don't feel bad, I wish it wasn't me, either.
Cindy - no, the Tylan didn't do really anything. This really has me baffled, but all I know is I don't want it to spread to the other coop - I would lose them ALL then. Bad enough I have to lose half my flock. I guess I ought to be happy that whatever it is, it is contained to the one coop. Hard to be happy at all about it, though.
I just hope that if I do cull, this stuff will be gone once I disinfect the coop. Short of burning the coop down, if the Oxine doesn't kill it, nothing will, I guess.
