Are you talking about the Sano auction?
I didnt get to go. My sister came in. I wanted to go. My friend up the road went. He wanted some baby calves and maybe a couple of goats but they went for more than he wanted to spend. We went a couple of weeks ago and baby calves were just about given away. But I guess that was a fluke. I gues the next auction wont be until after the first of the year. Thats too bad because I have to work Friday nights through Feb 6. I will miss sooo much. But oh well I can go to London on Tuesday.
Well I am working today. Give out from yesterday. I cooked for my siblings and parents. I had a house full. I have Rock Band and the kids had a blast.
I better get back to work for now. I will be checking back in.

Yeah, it was the Sano auction. Me and my dad go just about every week (we have no life!). There wasn't much of anything there this time, mostly game roos and hens/pullets. Like I said there was 4 silkie roos, one white and 3 red. There was a pair of standard black cochins, they were pretty. They didn't make it to the auction, someone bought them before they got in there. There were some that I think were black sumatras, boy were they pretty! The roos had like a purplish sheen to their feathers. There was a pair and a trio of those.
We didn't go the other week when calves were going for dirt cheap, but I did hear that they were bottle babies, so that's probably why. Last week they had some weanlings that were going for $140, which is the same as buying a bottle baby for $5, since the milk is at least $70 a bag, and you need 2 bags for 1 calf. I would rather have a weanling. I will not get a bottle baby! They die too easy. Now if they had had some @ $5 each, then I would probably get one, but we didn't go that week. We had went right after Halloween, and it was closed, so we figured it was done. I guess the owner's son had been killed in an accident, and the funeral was the day that we went, so that's why it wasn't going then.

But yeah, the next 2 weeks it is closed, so Jan. 9 will be the next time it's there.

It's okay, you'll only miss one month.

I take my 4 year old every time, and let me tell you it is not fun! He is getting better, but the longer we're there the worse he gets! I live only about 15 minutes from there, so that's our Friday night 'hotspot'...pretty sad if you think about it!

Give me an idea of what you might be interested in, and maybe I could pick some up for you? If you want, that is. I'm always interested in buying, I just don't have any place to keep more right now! Plus I am wanting to get some pure breeds, and the ones I want are never at the auction.

I dont know? I am always looking to add to my colors of my cochins and silkies. They always have different stuff. I bought my first cochins there and that has been it. When I get to go I will be sure to tell so I can meet whomever might be going.

Shelley I am not good with the colors but I think I have:
cochins-black, splash and partridge
silkies-white and ?brown
frizzle cross - black, and red
frizzle rooster that is a partridge
I seen where you were looking at some eggs. I would love to have a cochin frizzle cross. She has some pretty chickens. I looked at her page. But I dont have a bator. I dont know if I could maintain one as much as I depend on my daughter for help.

Oh, you mean Dipsey's eggs? Yeah, my son would love to get some bantam cochins, and he likes the frizzles too. An incubator is not that bad. Just be sure to get one with a turner, and you'd only need to add water every other day or so. It is pretty easy. Just keep an eye on the temps, fill the water every so often, and you're good to go!

Hi Cindy!! Tell Layne that Cris misses him! Poor little guy, he so wants someone to play with!

We were on our way back home the other night and out of the blue Layne says, "Ya know that was a good little kid...". While we were on the porch talking that day Layne was giving Cris piggy back rides up and down the hallway...He said he accidentally dropped him once and was like "so sorry you okay?' And Cris says, "Ya I'm tough".

Nope, that was Meri (chiknmama). I don't have anyplace to put more roos right now! And I don't have any bantam cochins, so I would need a roo if I got some!
