I don't mind eating rabbit, if it is cooked properly. Hubby's family always cooked stuff till it had no juice at all, and is practically charred - nothing has good texture or flavor that way. So he thinks rabbit is bad food

I grew up poor, we ate whatever we had to eat. Dad hunted and if it was on the table, you ate it or went hungry.

I ought to get off here, myself, I've been on here forever it seems like today

okay wanted to show you real quick my modifications plan Ron made me for the leanto(notice I said Ron made them?)
I will have a door to enter the back of the separate coops by and little gates in between...The all together separate coops will be about 6ft deep and about 12 ft long separated into 3X6 coops and the pens will be about 6 ft long as well. The rest of the run will be for everybody to freerange in...The old front run will have a fence reaching another 10 - 12 ft attached to the front of it so the freerange pen will be larger. And the ducks will keep their pen instead of finding a kennel for them. Forgot to put the other fence enclosing the rest of the duck pen, looks like it is larger but it won't be. tried to fix it in photobucket but couldn't.
So what do ya'll think?

I'm sory, can you explain it again?

I'm a bit slow today! I'm still working on my plan for my coop. Once I figure out how many different breeds I'll have, then I can worry about how many pens I need.

I think I'm basically getting rid of most of my birds. That seems to be the easiest way. I'll keep my bantam hens that I have already, since they are good mamas/brooders, but all the roos are going, I think. I might keep one red pyle, and one blue dutch, but the rest are going. Brutus will get to be the 'roo' in the oddball pen (my broody hens) Heck, I might even put the white silkies in there. It looks like I have 4 girls and 1 boy, then Brutus. Idk, but Cris won't let me get rid of any silkies!

sounds cool. Why the seperate runs if ya got a whole free range area? or is that for when you guys have to leave and ya want to leave them out?

I have your lamp in the brooder box (that I'm bringing in case we need extra space for birds) did you have the cage wires on yours? I have a pair, but can't recall if I took them off yours or if they came off another lamp. I'll just bring them along, and you can have them, I don't use those in the house, anyway.

Even though I don't have to get up as early as I thought (since Jon doesn't work til 4) I still want to get an early start, so Shelley, I should be out to your place by 9 or so. Do you want me to call ya first before I leave the house? I am hoping I'll be around that early

no guarantees.

Yeah that's fine. We might be able to meet you in town. I forgot my silkie eggs will probably be here tomorrow, so I'll have to go get those. The mailman said he usually starts on the packages around 9 am.

cool, I'll meet ya at the post office then, around 9 oclock. Don't forget to bring whatever bird you were supposed to trade to Cindy.

and remind your dad to take the eggs inside when he gets back home
