Yeah, I usually snack on popcorn and the like, but every now and then I HAVE TO HAVE chocolate

Speaking of chocolate...Cortni and I made some fudge this afternoon(hope it resembles fudge anyway). First we started out melting Chocolate chips and marshmallows and then decided to add some butter, then we happened to find some Sweetened condensed milk and in the end added vanilla. Don't know what the end result will be yet as we haven't checked it yet, still in the fridge. Hope it's good...

I wish I could have went to Sano tonight. But noooo I had to work. My neightbor and Mario49 went. They start the chicken auction at 5:30-6 I think. But they are an hour behind us here in Somerset. And if you have never been it is really hard to find. It will be late Feb before I get to go. But Cindy I will let you know when I go.

Cool, thanks for the pics - they look about the size of my mutt roos I hatched from Shelley's dad. They are about 7 weeks old, too. The hens I hatched from her dad are smaller, but the two roos (a rir cross and a brahma white rock cross) are pretty big. Not heavy, but larger size. The two roos will be dinner when they are big enough, I'll let ya know how they dress out.

The actual auction starts (I think) at about 5:30 - I say I think, because I rarely stay around long enough for the auction

.

I buy or sell in the parking lot, then go home. Auctions are a pain in the butt - half the time I can't understand what the auctioneer is saying, and it is crowded (I don't do well in crowds - creeps me out) and loud.

Most folks who sell poultry are there by 3:00 or 3:30. It's always best to show up early, to get first dibs on stuff, cause people stand by the driveway and look into other people's trucks and cars as they pull up the driveway

, then mob them if it is something good. I've missed out on some nice cochins before because I was late.

There are some folks who come every week just to sell in the parking lot - they have pull behind trailers set up with cages lined and stacked inside. One older guy who comes out (he wasn't there tonight) makes cages just to sell cages - nice ones, reasonably priced.

So, I like to get there no later than 3:30, but taking Jon to work, means I get there about 4:00 - which isn't bad this time of year, but in summer, it's gonna have to change, cause I need to go to Sano - the kid can get an apt. in town and walk to work

.

I was there for an hour today and sold everything I took except Roscoe and Flip - I'll just take them back next week or the week after.

Tomorrow I'm taking a dozen birds to E-town with me, and selling those to guy who's meeting me at the bus stop (when I take Adam back.)

Been a pretty good week, so far, selling eggs and chickens - now I can buy more chickens

Did you all see the blk. silkie on eggbiid now going for 1,200.00 so far.
I have a better looking silkie than that has better feathering on her feet too, she had mites and I had to snatch her bald, the mites get on the shaft of her feathers on her head and neck and I have tried everything to get rid of them for months you name it Ive tried it. now I just pull the infected feathers and am now spraying her.
If I can ever get her over the bugs I'll put her on eggbid!
The only reason I have kept her this long is my special needs Serama Roo is in love with her.

Oh, btw - hubby is very excited that I been making money on chickens, he told me to fire up the bator tomorrow and put some eggs in.
