Well.... I have a 40 foot trailor and Im building a wall half way through it so I have to cut a window in it for light and heat lamps too! They should be fine with that!

You should look into getting an electric space heater. Walmart has some that are about $15 that work really good. Then you could regulate the temps without needing a thermostat, and it would be less of a fire hazard. Most space heaterst nowadays have safeties on them that if they are tipped over, they turn off.

Oh well I might look into that!

It's cold here in Louisville too! Somebody forgot to stoke the furnace again! Who's turn was it this time? I did it the last time we had a cold snap! Now darn it, quit playing with the thermostat and leave it set on TOAST!

Ms. Lewis Rich :

I have no choc. but I just ate a cheesecake LOL

With Cherries or Strawberries on it? Yummmmm, I have Snickers, Milky Ways, Kit Kats, Hersheys Plain and 3 Musketeers, plus Cream Cheese and Chive Crackers, Peanut Butter and Honey Crackers, Grilled Cheese Crackers, and Cheddar Cheese Crackers to nibble on.

Plus I have Lasagna cooking at the moment.

I love those peanut butter and honey crackers, I always have to hide them from the boys so I get some

Well, I found Jr. -- Spazz ratted her out, and she was none too pleased about it

I went into the barn to feed donkeys, and Spazz kept following me and I kept shoo-ing her out, so she didn't lay her eggs in there (they do that sometimes - and I find them a long time later) and she went over to look into the "usual spot" and couldn't get into it, because I had scrunched a hay bale up tight in there - hardly any space down between the hay bale and the barn wall. At least no space for her big butt (so I thought).

So I go over to chase her out and there is Jr. looking up at me from this scrunched space and she gives me the evil eye and squawks at me to get the heck away from her hidey hole.

Jr. is about half the size of Spazz, and could fit pretty well in there - it was tight, but in the cold, it was probably better being tight.

I left her some cracked corn in a pile by there - I'll bring some water and some chicken feed in there later to leave in the barn so she can get a drink. Silly little hen. I have no idea how many eggs she has - or who's eggs she has - and if they are even fertile or not. She has only been laying for a month herself, but hers are fertile, because I cracked one to test it, and I tried to hatch one in the bator, but it died before pip.

So, in a little less than three weeks, I may have some more weird, mentally unbalanced chickens like Jr. running around the place. Although, it would be cool if I got a George Jr. out of it (what Jr. was supposed to be, til she turned out to be a hen).

I knew she was too mean to fall prey to some predator

I wasn't even worried about what happened to her - I figured she was just doing her own thing somewhere.

heck, if some coon or hawk tried to go after that little psycho chicken, they'd regret ever setting foot on my farm.

she is a smaller bird, has some banty in her, but bigger than my oegb were. Her daddy is a silver duckwing oeg and her mama is a half banty buff colored hen of unknown ancestry but looks sort of like a buff columbian something or other, only medium banty sized.

here she is with her mama - Shug

Jr. turned out white with black coloring in random places.

Oh yeah, and both her and her Mama scream (almost like a Hawk or a Blue Jay) - I hardly ever hear them cluck or make regular chicken noises.
