Kentucky people

That is crazy!! You would think with it being that close to home, the gvmt. would want to try and nip it in the bud. Granted, I doubt that Mexico has any 'big guns', but still, a lot of people could get hurt from that b.s.

The 10th amendment declares that any state can declare sovereignty - which means they can say that "any powers not held by the federal govt. as provided for them in the Constitution are reserved byt he states" so if the govt does something that is beyodn the bounds of the constitution, the states don't have to follow it - it's sort of a first step before saying "I want out of your Union, Dickhead"

KY filed their sovereignty declaration feb 24th of this year (finally!!)

actually, all things considered, I'm pretty good at Religious discussions

even my own mother won't discuss politics with me anymore, last time I made her almost cry.

LOL. My dad was a Baptist Preacher, (he passed away in 2005). So I have a lot of religious roots. I have learnt lol, the best way to look at this is that everyone has their own opions, and there won't be only one religion or dommentation in Heaven. So I respect everyone views, and have my own.

I also use this advise about everything including politics, and people personalities also. Wouldn't the world be a boring place if everyone had the same ideas and thoughts?

I think a variety of ideas is interesting to say the least.

Yep, even the "out there" folks think I have a weird choice of religion

I am very open minded about religions, and can discuss any of them (almost) with anyone and get along ok.

Politics, however, well.... let's just say the older I get... the less tolerant I am of voters who have no clue what or who they are voting for. Their vote affects ME and my life, too.

Someone else's religion usually doesn't affect me at all - I can afford to be more tolerant.

Too true.

Maybe I watch too much news

but I am worried, and it just keeps getting more strange as the days pass.

as an example - Rahm Emmanuel (if I spelled it right...) wants to institute mandatory service for everyone age 18-25

Umm, can you say Draft ....or perhaps Slavery?

I have three sons those ages - I don't want them or anyone to be forced to do anything.

but most news agencies aren't discussing that item, either - just like the situation on the border is being ignored.

I have 3 sons and a daughter, and I want them to have choices in life. It does seem that they are not going to have many opertunties in our area, I hate the thoughts of how rough it is getting on them. This younger generation will need to learn the old ways of surviving growing and raising your own food. I worry about them.

Yep, my boys were city raised, and that's where they want to run back to as soon as they can -

I'm just afraid that their technology will go down the toilet and they'll be stuck not knowing how to fend for themselves.

They know if it all goes to pot they can come back here, but still - they aren't interested in learning anything "country". I wish we had moved when they were younger, but we couldn't afford to then.

My oldest still lives up where we moved from in the city. He wants to move down here, but I told him he has to get a driver's licence first - he isn't inclined to do it for himself, so he stays there.

Makes me wonder where I went wrong that my kids think everything should be easy or handed to them - I wasn't raised that way, I didn't THINK I had raised them that way.

Now dont' go beating your self up over the way you raised them. All is expected of us is to teach and bring our children up right.

Now if we do that, and they refuse the knowledge we gave them or at least us the information we have provide them (just like manners also), now when they are away from us, it is their choice wheather they use it.

I was fixing a mess on the auction thread. I have some duck eggs that need to go out tomorrow, and now they don't have a home! Things sell better on there if there is a list of offers. Guess they are too lazy to look through the postings.
