good for her, because she was the "new girl in town" here, and I think she didn't like it much. After Fluffy and Gump joined the coop she felt a little better, though.

I have to wonder who else on here is superstitious?

I say I am "mildly" superstitious, because I don't take every single incident as an omen. Usually it has to be backed up by other stuff (like three strange things - not just one, two only makes me think a moment, but three strange things and I tend to obsess - like now.)

Let's see, weird things to me are.... white cats or (wild) white birds in a flock of dark birds. Black cats don't bother me, but white ones are more unusual to see (as are totally white birds in the wild).

I also make sure I never sweep my dirt (from the floor sweeping) out the door. I always pick it up in a bin and put it into the trash before getting it out of the house. and I never sweep (or vacuum) change - even pennies.

I also try not to step over a broom that has fallen. The broom falling on it's own is also a superstition

... (but that's only two things, so doesn't fit my rules...)

Hmm... I'd have to think of any others - I know there are more

eta -- remembered one... if my left palm itches I'm gonna get money - if my right palm itches, I'm gonna lose money.

Almost forgot to tell you what BC did yesterday. I was sitting on our little bench Layne threw together and BC walks within a couple feet of me, looks at me and squats. Good opportunity, so I reach down to pet her and she jumps up and runs... Few minutes later she does it again a couple feet from me... This time I decided to first act like I'm ignoring her and she stays put in that position so very slowly I move my hand toward her to pet her. NOPE, up she jumps up and runs away. She did this about 3 times before Layne came around the corner of the run. She is too funny...

Yeah well, nothing wrong with mingling skulls and crosses to go with the name is there? I think it's cool...

Hey, hope this doesn't offend anyone but...does anyone know of a place that will, ahem, process chickens for a small fee? I simply cannot do it myself but it might become necessary if I can't sell my pullets and two extra roos. thanks!

I'll have a tank for ya if the african cichlid would ever die(we do feed it, just waiting)...We've been waiting so we can take it down, he's the only fish left cause he ate all the others we put in. He's been living alone in the tank for about 2-3 yrs and just won't die.

if ya had ducks, you could feed him to them.

There's lots of yard sales this weekend, I figure if I can't find one cheap at Walmart (probably not, I don't want to spend much on one) I can maybe pick one up at a yard sale if I happen to stop at any.

Even a bird cage, if it's the right configuration would work. I'm thinking longer rather than taller. We used to have one like that for the canary we had as kids. One day when I was about 7 or 8 years old he was sitting on his perch like usual, he made a weird squeak and fell off the perch dead

poor thing, he must have been quite a few years old, I remember having him a long time. His name was Dagwood.

well, that was random

I'm not totally awake yet.

I got up at 4:30 (!!!) cause I woke up and for some reason couldn't get back to sleep. So I figured to just get up and check on animals - and of course when they saw me they had to be fed and let out to play.

Oh well, maybe I'll get a nap in later.

If you can't find an aquarium, you can always use a plastic rubbermaid tote. That's what a lot of people keep them in, from what I hear. The 10 gal. aquariums at walmart are like $10, so pretty much the same price as a tote, and the totes are bigger.

I didn't see this before I got offline.

That is funny. She was pretty much a "no touchie" once she started to hang with George and the girls.

Teenagers - who can figure them out, eh?
