Hey Meri, if you happen to go down 127 from Russell Springs you think I could have a dose or two of some vitamins/electrolites for the girls... I don't think Boo is feeling too well she seems a little puny. I guess I'll need to get a wormer and treat with that(better now than after they start laying)... But for now I found a bag of DE I forgot I had so added to their food and dustbath. Only if you'll be headed down that way. Can't miss it and we are in the back of the campground. You'll pass one big field full on the left right off the parkway, then the next big one on the left is us... You'll pass an Exxon or Shell on right right before it. Theres a sign that says something like largest yardsale in Russell County on the sign.

I've been getting more and more pullet eggs lately. It's always nice when they start to lay.

Mr. Feathers is a Manly Man

While the other three cockerels hang out together, Mr. Feathers has all the girls following him. He's a very good roo - I hope you can have him back with your girls.

I didn't get to go to the 127 sales today, had to hang more fence. I have another calf coming tomorrow night. (that will make 9 cows, total, 8 calves and Miss Camilla). Mookie is gonna be weaned this weekend, we are trying to get the pasture for them fenced (almost done) so he can go out on grass. Camilla will go out with him, but I want to try to tame her a bit first. She isn't wild, just leery of us, cause she doesn't know us at all. I need to check records, but I think BamBam can be weaned very soon, also.

I know Mook is ready - he is eating grain and hay and grass all day long (plus his bottles

he's getting a tummy on him.)

They grow up so fast ::: sniff sniff :::

I am SO tired (it was hot out there today, plus hanging fence sort of sucks).

I need to go make dinner now

Everyone of them?? That's great!! I've never had 100% hatch on them, though this last time I did have some pullet eggs. I hope you got lots of red-goldens and cinnamons, I need to start saving them to hatch for myself!! Great news!!!

Moonflowers, Congrats on the egg!

Radar, Congrats on the hatch.

My blue splash silkie is still sitting on eggs, guess I'll have to check them out tomorrow, she's been sitting along time it seems, the other babies are almost 4 weeks old by now and Miss Lucy is letting them run with the older chicks.

Do Barred Rocks go broody? I have one hen who I always catch in the nest box after everybody has laid their daily egg, setting on them when I go to collect the eggs.

I usually check and pull eggs around 5-6 pm and she is sitting on the nest. And she is laying as well, as far as I can tell. She is one of the original 7 I kept from the December order.

If she is still on it tomorrow, I'd say you've got yourself a broody! The first tip with mine is if they are on the nest at roosting time.

Is she on it right now?? I would say she probably is broody, if so.

I've got myself yet another broody, this one is a bantam hen. I have 7 cochin and 4 BTW jap eggs saved, plus 1 I think is a millie, so she now has a nest full

Thank you Fr.! Those eggs went thru a terrible storm and the hatcher had to be relocated because of electricity being out. They really wanted to get out I suppose. They are the cutest things ever!
