She could be having a false pregnancy. I would advise taking her to the vet and having her checked just to be sure. She could be pregnant and due to welp soon. If it is a false one, the vet can give you something to help dry up her milk.

Thanks Chuck... Never thought about it being false and her needing to be dried up....

I did call the vet and he said I could have her Xray'd to be sure... If she is prego then she'd be due by the end of this month since that would be the right gestation period for when she was last in heat and ran off....

Well, I feel sorta dumpy today - so I think I'm just gonna go bake some Gingerbread, have a nice hot cup of tea and clean Christmas ornaments and nativities. (did I mention I bought another one the other day?)

I emailed Adam and told him about Squeakers - also emailed my mom to tell her, I hope she doesn't call me - I don't want to start crying again

You should be able to feel movement. Even if there are just one or two in there. Hold your hand on her belly when she is laying on her side and just wait a little while. If she is about to welp, there should be alot of action going on.

ametauss - I talk to mine too as if they could carry on a conversation. People think i'm nuts. lol

When did I turn into my father's keeper?

I got griped out today because I hadn't made dinner, at 5:30?? I never make dinner that early, that time of day I'm always feeding birds, checking eggs, and getting all my 'day things' finished.

It really ticked me off, he got all mad cause he 'hadn't eaten anything all day', I'm sorry, I thought you could cook?? I'm not the maid, his wife or his mother, what makes him think it is my JOB to do this? I don't have to make anything for him, I do because it's silly to make soemthing for me and Cris alone, and because I'd get stuck washing the dishes regardless. But that doesn't mean I have to!

And yesterday, he was making me nervous when we were in C-ville, and he told me he'd 'be glad when I got my license, so I could drive myself'. Oh yeah? Me too!! It would save me a lot of $$ from having to buy him food if we decide to stop at McD's or something!!

I swear, and people ask me why I'm not married??

I already have someone to act as father, child, and SO (other than the physical part of it

), what do I need another one for??

Shelley, just remember, this too shall pass. How are the coops coming along. I wish I could have made the trip last Monday down there to help out.

Anyway, I may be changing jobs at Wally World, so I will be better able to plan things out and start visiting people. That is once the van is fixed. Which reminds me, did you ever get that problem fixed with your car?

I managed to get the rabbit hutches moved under a shelter, I used the canopy that I got for the Chickenstock, so hopefully now the nest boxes will stay dry for the does.

No, I haven't fixed my car yet, it is most likely the alternator. A minor problem, I know, but if I get it fixed, dad will then think it is fair game. He screws up his own vehicles very well, I'm not sure I want him driving mine!

But I'm thinking of getting it fixed, so I can at least drive it to the road to take Cris to the bus. It's pretty cold (and wet) walking down there in the morning, and it's not going to get any better!

The chicken building is at a stand-still, I've come to the conclusion that all my nails are crooked

At least that's how they seem when I try to use them

Apparently I'll have to rent an air-hammer or get some screws and a drill, if I have to put it up using nails it will never get done

My advice to you is to use self tapping screws and a drill with a philips head bit on it... Much easier. Almost my whole coop is screwed together
