Kentucky people

Good Morning all... Hope it only rains in the daytime on Saturday and not at night... One of the local churches is having a block party on the square for the kids... If no rain at night I'll be taking Layne to that instead of trick or treating. The kid wanted to dress up this year(crazy)... He passed out candy for the last two yrs cause he doesn't like having to get in and out of the car... Go figure!

Yeah, I need to stock on a few bags of chick starter

Plus, I want to be there for the drawing - would be nifty if I won that Gator - we've been looking at farm vehicles - don't want to spend the money on them, though - but a free one would rock

I almost got chick starter yesterday, glad I held off - I wonder if I can make the bit that I got left last me until then - doubt it, but I can grab a 25 # bag instead of a 50, then get 50's at the opening.

I'll have to see what other deals they're gonna have going.

Would take advantage of that sale if I had more chickens but it takes over a month for my girls to go through one bag of feed. Asked Burkman Feeds if they did 25lb bags and they don't... Wish they would for me since they bag their own anyway.

Mrs. Turbo... bring the one with the hurt leg.... we'll see if we can baby it back to health.... I told the kids about the birds and they are all excited....

I'll also have my soaps on Sat so let your DD know...

If it does rain saturday I'll just sit home and stare at my hatcher

I HOPE I have orps this time in there. I put in 8 eggs plus a BabyMama egg.

If not, then I'm not setting anymore until I have them in their seperate coops so I know whose egg I am grabbing.

I'm almost guaranteed that any that do hatch will be at least half orp - Bubba has turned into quite the love bandit. He isn't as bad as Gump was - he has certain times of day he goes after them, once he is done hitting on each one, he lets it rest for awhile

But first thing in the morning, and last thing in the evening it is chaos out there when he is chasing the girls down. Shoulda named him Georgie Porgie I guess

"kisses" the girls and makes them cry.

He'd have them like him more if he would learn to give them treats and such - like George does. I am hoping he is still just young and will work it all out.

100# a month would be great for me - I'm afraid to figure out what I am using right now, but this summer I had been using about 400# a month. I have fewer chickens, now, though, but with colder weather they are eating more.

I think I put out about 20# this morning for them - but there will probably be some left over tonight.

I had a neighbor that has a poodle. He would take it out for walks in his back yard which is just across the RR tracks from where we used to live. No fences to devide or keep in or out either of our dog. His or ours. My little chihuahua/feist mixe always wanted to play with his dog. Now first of all, all of our dogs at this time where girls and spayed. Everytime Powder saw that dog outside she would head over the tracks to play. He would yell at us to keep our boy dog away. This man mush have needed his glasses replaced because Powder was practically hairless. He had hair but it was very fine and thin and short. It was clear as day as to the gender of her. A couple years later we got a St Bernard when he was 6 months old. HE didn't care much for anythng because he was sick and malnurished. But by next summer when he was grown and healthy and about75 pounds bigger and not neutered yet. That man would let his dog come into our yard and it would drive him crazy. WE had to take it home and try to explain to him that our very large dog is not neutered yet and his dog was driving him insane. We where afraid he would break down the fence he was in. After he was fixed his dog would only wander over every now and then. I wanted so badly to yell at him and tell him to keep his girl dog out of my yard before my giant boy dog eats her for a snack. But being the nice person that i am. I was very polite and asked him to please watch out for his pretty little baby because if my dog breaks through the fence and we aren't home to stop him she will get hurt. AFter the neutering he just wanted to play but of course a poodle against a 120 dog is just a squeeky toy.

DH thinks shipping it in one of those med priority boxes would be cheapest but he wants to weigh the bread... unfortunately they ate all but 1 loaf so he's gripping about doing it....

Hey man if ya'll weren't such pigs there'd be more of it left....

The priority box is $10.35 to ship.... If he waits until tomorrow night, I'll have all the bread made and ready to ship out on Sat...

DH has a paypal account... if you make it a gift then they won't charge us a fee....

[email protected] is his PP account name...

Please don't let it rain.....

The neighbors on the other side of us are mad at us as well.... we went to their house 4 times to explain that their dog which ran the neighborhood was killing our chickens... Although we have a fenced in barn area, we don't clip their wings, so they can fly over the top but still are well in our yard.... They denied that it was their dog until one day I was coming home and their dog was in my driveway with a chicken in his mouth and they were pulling in their driveway and heard me yelling.... We ended up getting animal control involved because they just would not keep their dog out of our yard.... We have horse fence between our yards and the dog would dig under the bottom rail.... I think they ended up getting rid of the dog and they blame us....

Hey when the neighbor three doors down's dog came into my yard and killed one of my chickens they were soooo apologetic and paid me for the hen... and we've never had the dog in our yard again and I've even seen him so I know they still have him....

I just think there are rude people out there and I take responsibility for my animals and do my best to ensure they don't get on other people's property....
