Kentucky people

Hi Casey,

I haven't seen the post yet, but I'm going to go looking for it. I doubt I'll go to Tennessee. Besides, my cochins aren't ready yet. I picked up a couple of fairly good mottled and frizzled last fall. I hope to get some pretty babies. I love my mottled hen. She is just a tiny little ball of feathers. I can't wait to get some babies. Keep me updated on shows. We have all got to meet. I know you'll be at Shelbyville. It's kind of a central location, so maybe we can all try to meet up there.

Yes, I will be at the Kentuckiana Show this year. Newport isnt that far I dont think. And I am not showing any birds either, going to see what I can pick up. LOL! I am sure we will meet sooner or later, hopefully sooner. I posted it in the Shows Forum here if you want to take a peek.

Hey Yolonda, sorry for not responding sooner. My trip was extended due to the bad weather on Thursday, and not in a good way. I was stuck in the Atlanta airport for the night.

Today or tomorrow is great for me. I plan on doing nothing this weekend, but rest. I will priveate message my phone number to you. The little boys are just beginning to crow and try their roosterly duties. They are sooooo cute. I appreciate the offer of the NN chicks, but I have so little space I will have to pass (although I really want to say bring them on!!!!!).

Casey, it is good to see you posting. I have not seen your name in a long time. I have been sort of worried about you.

All is good here. Been a little rough going but I have made it through. Things couldnt be better, got a new job, new car, new computer, getting more birds, hope things stay this way for awhile. All this downfall is kinda deporessing, lol.

I am very happy for you Casey. I hope it stays that way for you as well.

Hey Yolonda, if you get these little SF guys that I have fertility should no longer be a issue for you. They are doing their best to crow. They sound so funny! I had them in the garden with the adult Silkies and they were doing their best to mate with the hens. I have them in a pen with Juvenile Silkies to make sure they do not mate with any of the Silkie hens.

Hi Tom,

I sent you an email. Sorry I missed the post Saturday.

That storm last week really did a number here. Pens got tossed into the field. Roofs ripped off, Coops knocked over, electric fence knocked out. And only one hen lost. I am grateful for that. I was in shock when the lights came back on and I saw the damage.

I'm not sure why my pair hasn't produced any fertile eggs. I got each one from a completely different breeder, many states apart, so there isn't any inbreeding. At least this way I can narrow the problem down to the hen or the roo.

Since Casey will be at the Kentuckiana show, and I'm sure at least a few others from here, you should plan on coming. We can all go out for lunch or something. Maybe everybody bring a dish for a potlluck lunch. Any other ideas?

There should be some really awesome gray silkies there. I know you want to see those. LOL

Yolonda

ps you're invited too Badhbh there will be people from Indiana there also!

Wow, its great to see so many KY folks. I live and work in Elizabethtown (E-town). I am planning to attend the Green River show and the Cochin show in Tennessee in April. If anyone else is interested, let me know.

I am attending both those shows Chick-in-law mentioned, as well as the Western National for Cochins International Club in Sedalia, Mo April 19. As well as the Kentuckiana Show, and both fall shows, the Green River fall show and the Blugress Poulrty Assoc. Fall show. Im sure I will be attending more in Indiana, Ohio, and Tennessee this year as well.

Yolonda, that sounds like a blast. With fear that Casey will scold me, I have to ask when is the Kentuckianna show? I did go look at the postings for the shows, but could not find it. It is being held in Shelbyville isn't it?

Chick-N-Law and Badhbh, it is nice to meet you.

I wouldnt scold you. I didnt know where it was until a few weeks ago. I dont think anyone has posted info on it yet, I got a flyer in the mail but have misplaced it and forgot to post it here. I will call a friend and have them send me another flyer so that I can post some info here.
