I have eggs in the incubator (also on day 5) right now too, but not Faverolles this time. I'm not going to candle until day 10. Sending good hatching vibes your way!

LOL sorry about mis-spell! ( I am notorious for that ) The eggs I have been Candling are Faverolles they are not quite as dark. I was just making sure everything was going ok since I was a nervous wreck! lol I am also very curious and I have one child homeschooling right now and watching the growth is very interesting for him. He is an 8 year old who is studying farming and also learning about animal birth. I just couldn't resist!

I have found out that the less I did with the eggs the better the hatch rate I got. Seems that handling them tends to lower the hatch rate. Good luck and I know the excitement of wanting to watch the development of the eggs is addicting but try to keep it under control.

I heard about a swap meet this Sat. in Columbia at some feed store.

At the columbia farm supply. The corner of 31 and 412. There is not a web site contact the farm store for a booth. There is no charge to come and bring any farm animals it is buy sell trade

This is the email i got and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it and if anyone was going.

Here is the last email that I got about it.

Columbia Farm Supply is a Purina Store It is Independantly owned franchise. The two men who own it also have the Purina store in Shelbyville. It is on Hwy 412 just east of Hwy 31. If you are coming down HWY 65 it is the columbia exit. The road is called 99 and 412 and bear creek pike. Take the exit and turn west toward Columbia. The store is about 6 miles on the left. If you are coming down 31 it will be the second red light take a left an it will be 100 yards on the right. Everyone will be set up outside in the parking lot. I looked at the space log and it showed over 20 spaces full as of last friday

When searching for it this is what I found.

DAY & DAY FEED
1011 CAMPBELLSVILLE ROAD , COLUMBIA , KY 42728

Metzgers' Feed in Shelbyville? Didn't know that they had a branch in Colombia?

TSC in Shelbyville has all of their chick marked down to $1.00. They severely over ordered. The have tons of Golden Comets, Cornish Rocks, RIR, Red Sex Links, and some ducks. (All pullets.)

Day and Day feed is on hwy 55, not 31. 31 goes through Lebanon. If the hwy 65 they are referring to is interstate 65, there is no Columbia exit. E-town or Bowling Green, that's the only 'exits' for Columbia.
