Hey everyone.... Sorry I've been missing lately... been having one thing after another happen....

As most everyone within 100 miles of Louisville knows, Humana cut about 1000 positions and mine was one of them, so I've been trying to find a new job, take care of 4 prego pygmy does, a prego Great Pry... (which had 7 boys and 1 girl on Easter Sunday)....

DH put some new pictures of the "farm" up on our website... Take a look... I'm to take new puppy pictures today...

I really wanted to find hubby some baby ducks somewhere local, but it doesn't look like that's gonna happen. I only wanted a couple, but I've waited til after Easter so they're all gone at TSC. Oh well...don't guess we really NEEDED ducks.

Dang it! I wish Corbin wasn't so far away! I told hubby I'd keep looking for them last night and he didn't seem to mind not having them too much. Maybe next spring we'll have better luck.

My first batch of meaties are growing like wildfire!! I heard that they grew fast, but really had NO idea. I thought I was ordering dark cornish, but got cornish x's...they aren't pitiful like I thought they'd be. They run and peck at bugs and eat grass...just like any chicken. Wonder why they get such a bad rap? I was seriously afriad their legs would break off after reading horror stories! LOL!

Hi Everyone - I have enjoyed reading and getting to know some of the Kentucky group. I have been on BYC for a short while but just ventured into this area. My husband and I 6 children (23,21,10,8.6.4), we home school and love it. We have a terrific German Shepherd - Dolly, a guinea, goose and turkey that roam free on our property. 6 Blue & Black Orpingtons, 5 Barred Rocks, 16 Rhode Island Reds, 3 Seramas and a few mutts. We have 65 eggs in the incubator and a variety of hatching eggs available.

My son is interested in knowing when/where any local shows are. Or any poultry clubs that teach how to prepare for a show and what the judges look for. We have never showed before.

We are looking forward to getting to know ya'll.

hello and welcom to the Ky thread of BYC! Hubby has a good friend that lives in Harrodsburg... As for any clubs for your son, go to your local extension office and get him involved in 4H. Our local 4H is mainly livestock and our son is the only poultry enthusiast but they ordered him the literature and workbooks and support him. He hasn't shown yet but when the state fair comes you can show there and also keep your eyes on the threads here under the swap, shows and stocks or something like that.

Guys,
I am selling one pair of my Mille Fluer Cochin bantams.
If you are familiar with the color, you know how rare these are. I will take $60 for the pair. I have several other Mille pairs I am keeping. This is a chance to own some of these guys without having to pay the shipping prices that I did in order to get these beauties.

I have a pair of Buff Cochin bantams that I am parting with as well. I need the space to grow out babies. They are proven breeders and I have sold many of their chicks. I have some of their babies for sale from this spring as well. $40 for the Buff pair.

I have tons of chicks from all colors running around eating me out of house and home...blue, black, splash, mille, buff, mottled, partridge too! $4 per chick!

One trio of Jersey Giants that need a home! Huge but gentle! $60 for the trio! Chicks from them as well.

I can deliver to Lexington or meet between Richmond and Berea.

You can see all these cochins at
