I'm giving Nathan those Columbian bantams. Rotten little birds!!

oh no..... we don't have anymore.. gave them all away and before we did we placed RV in a class of about 130 bantam wyandottes. The guy that got them has been kicking butt with them at the shows. Those roosters are mean.
put an ad in craigslist for free chickens..... or make soup.
Well, I think your GLWs have a clean bill of health so I am moving them to the barn where it is warmer. You can check out my new breeding pens in the barn.

I'm sure they'll appreciate the barn. It's 7 degrees here right now at 4:30am. Watering the gang is no fun when it's this cold! Don't forget to tell Nathan about the other hens. Or I'll tell him I can have my pick of what I can find (just keeeding). Hope you have a good weekend at Shawnee.

yup....the hens, pullets, and splash rooster will all be in one pen. Just make sure Nathan isn't killing my birds while we are gone

I sent you an email too..... and bring ear plugs because all the call ducks are in the barn...LOL
I think all the nice birds are running around in the barn.... I don't think Jerry would notice some of them missing....

just kidding, he would kick my butt.

Hi all, just checking in for a sec

I will be going to the Kentuckiana Poultry Show in Shelbyville with ladrifter on the 18th, anyone else going? I'm taking the previously posted 6 (2 splash OEGB, splash bantam cochin, porc. pair, mille fleur roo) plus a blue cochin bantam cockerel and my other splash OEGB so she doesn't have to try to cuddle with herself all night

I will be taking some young pekin and rouen ducks to sell. If memory serves they will be about 4 weeks old. They have been inside, but they should be okay outside with a dry place to sleep and a heat light. I'm also taking some coturnix quail to sell. Not quite sure on the sexes, most of them are rosettas and cannot be sexed by color. Since I don't put lights on mine I have no idea what sexes they are.

I have 2 male beagle pups available for adoption after the 18th. They will be 8 weeks old then. Their mama is Cutie Pie and their daddy is the neighbor's stupid male beagle dog that always seems to get loose when one of our girls is in season

Luckily she didn't have a very big litter. Anyway, these pups can be picked up anytime after the 18th to anyone interested. They have been wormed at about 2 weeks old, but I'm going to give them the dewormer again. I haven't given them any shots because I've read a lot of conflicting information about the effectiveness of vaccinating young pups. None of our dogs are vaccinated and other than worms they have no problems. If we had parvo or anything like that I would definitely vaccinate them, but luckily we don't. Asking $25 adoption fee to help cover the cost of their care. Dad is 100% beagle, mom is mixed, though mostly pure. Her mom was 100% and her dad was 75%, making her 88% and her 'half pure' pups 93.75% pure beagle. So they aren't 'pure' but they are very close. They don't have very long ears, but none of ours do, not even the pure breeds. I'd love to get some that have super long ones but we really don't need anymore dogs!

Winter is definitely here, labo, and I can't wait for it to be gone again! Course in 6 months I'll be wishing for cooler weather again, but we can't be happy all the time, right?
