I am bumping up this post because I just got back from Key West and there are chickens in need of adoption right now. There are plenty of Gypsy roosters, beautiful red colors and big combs and little bantum size(and colored) hens, some with chicks. I have to wait until June until the weather warms up and then I am getting 4 hens and a rooster. There are LOTS of roosters(Too bad, I think some go for meat) I wish I could take more. I urge ANYONE who has some room and doesn't mind paying the shipping, to adopt some Key West chickens. If you have ever been to Key West and seen them running around there, you know exactly why I am pleading with you to save them. If anything, it's the novelty of owning what may be a dying breed. Merry
