Keyboard issues

I have a Kindle , have no pro men viewing pictures or seeing what has been posted, but I feel there is poor design features. I have a problem finding what subjects I need. I can't seem to be a leader to post or search . I like the post, very educational, just don't like the way NYC is set up.

I don't know if your app is the same version as mine. But once you are in a specific forum there's a box with an arrow (on mine anyway) in the top right corner. Tap that then select start a new thread and you can start your own discussion there

Yep, the site is fine. I tried deleting the iPod app and reinstalling it, but that didn't help either. I'm not sure how to clear the cache on the app either.

• Describe your problem in as much detail as possible! Every time I try to reply to a post, search, etc. in the BYC iPod/iPhone app, the keyboard disappears every few seconds while I'm typing, in the middle of words, etc. It's irregular and every couple of seconds or so.
• What is the URL of the page that you had problems? All of the BYC app, any forum/search bar.
• Did you receive any error messages? If yes, what were they? (please copy and paste the entire message, screenshots are best) Nope, just a disappearing keyboard.
• What were the exact steps you took before having the problem? Please be as specific as possible so we can reproduce exactly what you did. Go step by step, provide links, details, clicks, etc. I opened the app.
• How long has the problem been happening? When did it start? If only one time, what day and time did it happen? About a week or two ago. It was disappearing once in a while, then gradually got worse and now it's every few seconds.
• VERY IMPORTANT: Which browser and version are you using (eg., Firefox 3.5.9, Internet Explorer 7, etc.) BYC Apple iPod app
• Have you tried disabling all your browser plugins and/or extensions? (Some of these conflict with website features and tools) Not sure how
• Have you deleted your internet cache / browser history of files and tried again? Not sure how to do that in the app. Do I need to do this in Safari?
• VERY IMPORTANT: Have you tried a different browser (we suggest Google Chrome or Firefox)? It only happens on the app.

Thank you, hopefully this gets resolved soon.

ETA- Not sure if this matters, but I'm using iOS 7, not 8.

Old thread I know, but I am having this same issue as stated above I have the iso10.3.3 on my iPod. Is there a fix for this within the app?

Do you have the same problem when using the site on your mobile browser (like Safari or Chrome)?

I stopped using safari or chrome because of the pop up ads from amazon. I added the BYC app to my phone and iPad and have been using the app since the beginning of the year. It seems to be getting worse. My phone has the iso11.3 on it and the keyboard still disappears almost just as much. When I am on the desktop using safari or chrome this issue doesn’t happen.

Yes while typing the keyboard will disappear. Then I have to tap where it left off and the keyboard will come up and I’ll start typing again. Sometimes when the keyboard disappears I will still be typing my word out and hit the post button or go to a resent thread the is listed in the recent tab because it is hidden while the keyboard is up. I will try and video this issue while I am home tonight to show you. (The keyboard disappeared 5 times while typing this)

So I am going to try and record me typing to see if I can get the keyboard to disappear. As you can see it has done it once. I wonder if this is just an app thing because on the desktop the key board doesn't come up like it does on the app. I hope this video helps you figure out my problem.

Hmm... that would definitely help point us in the right direction if it's definitely only on the app!

Anybody else having this problem? If so:

1) Are you using the app or the site on your mobile browser?
2) If browser, which one / version?

I don’t use the app on any of my devices. I simply Googled Backyard Chickens, then when I got here I hit the little Save to Homescreen button. Then BYC works exactly as it does as it does on my computer...but on slightly smaller scale. Turn the device to landscape instead of portrait orientation.
