Kicking the food pyramid to the curb Update post 18 & 19

I've said the same thing for a long time, but people don't want to hear that sitting on your butt makes you fat. They'd rather say it's the food they're eating than have to take some personal responsibility that it might actually be their lifestyle to blame.

Sitting does not make fat. It truly is the food that is being eaten. Science proves that.

I didn't say the act of sitting makes fat. Sitting around while consuming too much food makes you fat.

Just read Real Food by Nina Planck, very enlightening. IMO, conventional medicine simply has no idea about the correlation between traditional diets and health. And healthy people don't need doctors very often. You make the connection.

You do know that the food pyramid that the federal gov't has been touting as the way to go for a healthy diet is the same food pyramid on the side of a bag of hog feed touted as the perfect balance to get your hogs to "weight" for market? Sad but true.

Its not so much too much food, as it is the wrong kind of food.
You cannot gain weight regardless of lack of activity, if you are eating only real food with a good portion of real fats.

Can't argue with you.

So raise a home-grown carrot and a glass of raw milk to independence!
