Hi
My 10 week old chicks did not want to go to bed tonight! Once I guided the leader into their coop the others scattered then the leader flew out... It's strange because since I've had them at home the past 6 nights its been so easy. They all follow the leader! Once the sun goes down they want to go Inside.
I did notice the 2 larger chicks are flying around the run. This is new and clearly are testing their new feathers!
Any advice would be helpful... The good news is they are beginning to greet me and follow me. They are settling nicely but I felt bad placing in them inside when they didn't seem they wanted to!

my rooster used to seem to be afraid of the dark and wouldnt go into the coop unless there was a light in there. didnt have more problems after I got a string of solar lights to light up the inside a little. we dont have the roo anymore though, city living.

when the pullets roosted in the run instead of going into the coop, wait till they are settled and pick them up and put them one by one on the roost. they will be less flighty when they are a little drowsy and its dark out. best wishes

Thanks for your advice! Keeping chicks are new to me...even grabbing and holding a chick doesn't feel natural yet.
