I knew that someone would notice that!
It's something that most -- if not, all -- Type 1 diabetics go through. After their blood sugar is brought back down after diagnosis, the pancreas' remaining insulin-producing islet cells will get back to work producing insulin, albeit in smaller total amounts. I'm guessing that it's called the "Honeymoon stage" because it's easier in general to manage one's blood sugar during that stage.
Sadly, the stage doesn't last forever. It trails off eventually, and when it does this varied from person to person -- some people's last for only six months, and some people's last for five years or more. Mine has been going for about four years, which it pretty good.
So, no, I haven't gotten hooked up.
That is really interesting. I did not know that.

It's a fake needle.
You don't even feel it poke you.
Oh yes you do. I was traumatized as a child...I didnt even get warned...just naively held out my finger.
Sometimes it hurts when I fingerstick, sometimes it doesn't. What's really annoying is when I feel a poke, but there's no blood.
Also annoying when it really hurts, and then won't stop oozing. 🙄
I just need a drop... just a drop! And then my finger is like, "No, you can't have any," or, "Here! Help yourself! I had too much blood, anyway!"

Hahah that happened to me too when I tried it!! Either zero blood or geyser. There is no in between. 😂
