Baked AlaskaSounds like a Baked Alaska.
Baked Alaska has ice cream in it.I just looked that up and while that looks delicious, it did not look like that in the dream
It was round ish and I think layered? But idk. And the cream was more of like a filling or runny like? Idk
Not much details to go on in the dream![]()
Baked Alaska
1 1/3 cup shortening
3 1/3 cup sugar
6 eggs
4 1/2 cups flour
1 1/3 cup cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 1/2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp salt
2 2/3 cups milk
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream in rectangular carton
meringue
Cream shortening, sugar and eggs together.
Sift dry ingredients together. Mix into batter alternately with milk and vanilla at low speed.
Pour into greased and floured 13" x 9" cake pan.
Bake at 350° F. for 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
Cool cake in oblong pan.
Scoop out center of cake halfway down.
Use 1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream.
Cut into 3 parts lengthwise or otherwise to lay into scooped out portion of cake.
Cover and seal with meringue.
Bake at 425° F until meringue is browned.
Remove and serve immediately.
I could foresee a cake soaked in melted ice cream from her messing up the meringue and not getting it properly sealed for the final bake.No no no. Do not send her down that path. The girl already burns too much food as it is, I can only imagine the fate of a meringue in her hands![]()
