Not for me apparently. I had 6 in my cart, it added up to a little under $20. Wouldn’t let me add “supplies” to get to $25 either. I had to add 2 more chicks to make it up before I could place the order.

I mean, I’m totally fine with 8 chicks, but I don’t think husband will believe me when I tell him I HAVE to order 8 lol.

I kinda need to start building before I get this excited though. Smh
I have ordered 6 chicks from them before...I think I added that grow gel crap to bring the price up. I'll get my receipts.

Yep, that’s pretty much what I had to do. But with 2 of each. Going to go with welsummer, EE, barred rock, and buff orps.
I get text messages from them.
They have sales often.
Sometimes as low as one dollar per bird.

Maybe when you are ready to order I will be ready and we could split an order.

Tried to do that, didn’t work. I even tried to add one of their stupid books lol. It has to be chicks.

Hey there’s an idea. I’ll let you know when I’m getting ready to order and we’ll see if anything lines up. I got a lot to do first.

I'm in no hurry.

There is a buy sell trade section on BYC. I follow my state thread and asked there. You can try and search for breeders too. On BYC or online in general. There are a few small boutique breeders near me that I found on accident. Online, FB and just asking around. I stumbled upon my states list of NPIP tested flocks. As scary as it is they listed the names and address of people they tested. (Not sure if they tell them they will broadcast that info when testing or not.)
STORE....did you say there is a store on here!!!! I am in trouble now...:wee

I think I'm going to lose one of my lavender maran chicks. :hit

After about 10 days, it became clear that I had one runty one that just wasn't developing like the others. By two weeks it was half the size of the others and just kind of standing around and not racing about the brooder like the others. It was still eating and drinking, and no one was picking on it, so I left it in the brooder. I did give all the chicks some scrambled eggs yesterday, which they all, including the runt, gobbled down.

I went out this morning and found the runt lying on its side under the eco-glow. It had gotten cold last night, and even with the other chicks and eco-glow it just enough, I guess. It's inside now, on a heating pad covered with a towel. I tried to get a little water and a drop of nutri-drench in it, but not sure it's going to make it. In all honesty, I'm not sure it should make it at this point. It clearly is not a vigorous, healthy chick, and I'm having a hard time believing it will grow to be a sound chicken. My heart is breaking for it, and I don't want to do.

Sorry for posting my bad news here. I just needed to cry somewhere, and this has been such a supporting, knowledgable group.

It's in a warm quiet spot with a little scrambled eggs and water. I guess I'll know soon enough, what its chances are.
Aw. Don’t apologize for sharing. It’s not good to internalize everything. I’m sorry about your little chick, watching them suffer is horrible, especially when it feels like there’s no hope. When they fail to thrive it just sucks, no doubt about it. :(
If it does make it, it’ll be special. If it doesn’t, it was never meant to be. That’s how I see it. :hugs

I feel for you.
I had a little one that partially zipped and that was it. I just left it, but the darn little one stayed alive. It took 2 days of off and on soaking to get all of the shell and cemented goo off of the poor little one. We named it Rocky because it was obviously a fighter. Rocky went into the brooder with the others. Was zipping around with no problems. 5 days after going into the brooder it went from zipping around to dead within 2 hours. :(

I'm having an horrible time trying to hatch chanteclers this year. I've set over 50 eggs and only 3 have been viable. 2 hatched. 3 weeks in, I found one gone. :( I'm never going to get my flock built up at this rate.
