We don't have many skunks here. I may see like one a year.
How do you deal with skunks without getting sprayed or do you really just take a spraying and deal with it?

Stay away from the business end. Unless their stinkum supply has been depleted previously all sphincter muscles relax at death and out it comes. I spray immediately with a 10% hydrogen peroxide solution or a Clorox solution. I take a bath in water that has an added capful of Clorox after the fact. The pants get washed in laundry soap, water and bleach.

Since skunks are mainly nocturnal, it is my experience that there are a lot more skunks around than people think there are.

Very much so.

Right now it is 66°F and 48% humidity. By the time it gets up in the 80°s, the humidity will be in the mid 20% range if not lower.
