I never noticed any difference in hatchability. I have other issues because of hatching at a mile high altitude.

The noticeable difference is the size difference of the hatched chicks, Bigger eggs make for bigger chicks.
I found that bigger chicks come from hens that are 3 years or older as they have a better yolk/albumen ratio than big eggs of young hens.

Normal hens usually lay bigger eggs when they are 3 than when they were one. If you are hatching production White Leghorns you don't want to be waiting until the hens are 3 years old to start hatching their eggs.

That is true. I do not have Leghorns anymore, but I remember them laying enormous eggs right from the start and pretty soon porous ones no matter how I tried to supplement for their extra needs.

In my case, I have WL 3 pullets that are laying either pullet eggs or large sized eggs with double yolks. I can’t tell the difference from their large double yolkers and my 2 yr old WL eggs that are also size large. So I’ll just pick the best looking eggs and go with it.
