I have had a turkey hen missing for 5 days now. While hunting for her, I managed to find this girl trying to become an unauthorized incubator.

While searching for the missing hen, I passed by within 2' of her daily. I essentially looked directly at her daily without being able to see her. I am pretty sure that I even watered her while hand watering the plants in the area. The only reason I was able to find her today was because she made a slight movement while I was looking at her location with my peripheral vision.

I'm currently drowning in paperwork and phonecalls trying to apply for "disability services" this semester. Yup, swallowing my pride.
I'm sure most of my professors would be empathetic about having a surgery halfway through the semester, but I can't risk being screwed over and left to dry with nothing to back me up.
I'm so frustrated. Most professors in my department actually don't care about attendance, as long as you handle your end of the bargain. Still, I can't look them in the eye right now and get a good sense of their character, so I am having to go the "formal" route.

Me too! I'm not upset that I have to provide proof, I'm just frustrated that I can't sit down in their office and have a frank conversation like two adults.
Our experiences sound similar. I thank God that my professors have quickly learned to know and trust me, and understand that if I have to skip class, it only means I'll be working twice as hard to stay caught up at home.

The last time when she was an authorized incubator, she was two weeks into setting before I found her. Again it was purely accidental because I walked through a particular spot a different way than normal.
