Some of the deleted posts were totally innocuous ... and were similar to others that were left. I was in the process of responding to a comment from @Kiki and it disappeared before I could hit "post." It's weird.

Happened to me too. I was trying to reply to something, and poof...gone.

I had one deleted from the Covid post and no one sent me squat. It wasn't even a nasty post - I simply warned someone not to feed a troll. The offending party thought I was insulting him with the moniker and had the post removed. Apparently no one knew the definition of an Internet Troll ... so I enlightened them ... very politely, too! THAT is still there, or at least it was the last time I checked. I can't stand trolls. Bullies are bullies, even in cyberspace!
