I dislike hugs for the opposite reason. I was raised by huggers and hate being touched.

I think I'm the odd one out here. I'm not a hugger. I was raised by a very traditional Japanese mother, though, so not a surprise. No strong emotion ever to be shown in public, etc. On the plus side, I apparently have a very good poker face.

Why would it matter

It doesn't matter. Even if all of your friends and family drink, SOMEONE has got to drive home, right? I actually like being the non-drinker (or the very light drinker) in the the group. Being the sober/straight one is often VERY entertaining. Oh, the STORIES we get to tell about everyone, later on ... and they don't even have to be TRUE!
