This wee babe was running along when I was cultivating. I had a large flock of seagulls following me. So I caught him and placed him in better cover so I didn't run him over and he wouldn't be a tasty morsel for the seagulls.

So that's it; you gotta have a special breed and special grass... (wait a minute. I don't think cows eat/smoke that kinda grass- pretty sure...) What's the breed? What kind of grass?

Um rusty here, but some breeds do finish on grasses better than others. Something about the genetic traits for marbling in the muscle fibers and their hardiness for not needing pampering (corn fed diets) at the end.
And all grasses are not created equally. Some grasses are higher or lower in fiber content, protein, and sugars. This part I know more about and it plays a factor too. I'd have to do some digging for specifics because you know...if you don't use it you loose it.
(I ultimately went a different livestock route back when I was thinking of starting with beef again)

I know when I was a kid, we finished our beef out on silage that we grew on our farm. The only time I've ever eaten beef that good since then was at 4 or 5 star restaurants.

Wow! Way cool. My dad was a custom home builder, so we always moved around--live one place a couple years, then sell and move--but we always lived in real nice houses, with pools of course. It was Florida after all. He built waterfalls for us to dive off of. So pretty! Anyway that was part of the aeration system but you couldn't run them too long or the water would cool off too much. He did not like the water to be cold.

@CindyinSD your dad likely did that due to that fact that after it is your primary residence for 2 years you are no longer paying capital gains on the profit. I look at that as a long term flip. If you don’t mind the moving it’s a great option.

I needed a pool today. It was so dang HOT!!!!

It's raining. Nice and gentle. Oops... harder now. I'm sitting in my "Captain Kirk" chair (as DH calls it) watching my turkeys run for cover under the deck. We have chicken TV or DVDs. Those are the choices for entertainment out here on the mountain. Chicken TV is better.
