Wear something simple & pretty, put on a *little* bit of make-up, make eye contact, say "Hi, Dan" and smile. "How's your day goin'?" Dan says, "Aw shucks!" maybe blushes. You smile, say "Thanks!" as you gather up your things. Eye contact, smile. "See ya next time." Now you're friends. Next time it will be natural. All decent people like being noticed and treated in a friendly way. You're just being friendly (which you do very well) and brightening the day of a hard-working gas station guy. 💕
Did you know that there are actually guys that prefer no make-up?

The really nice thing about sand is that no matter how wet it gets, there is never any mud.

If you give it enough water it will grow nearly anything that can survive the fall, winter and spring.

She is a Treeing Walker. They are very picky about their food and she never once got a steak. She did catch birds in flight and even dined on a guinea that was foolish enough to land in her pen.
You got me on the sand. I'm on a red clay ridge. Whenever it rains there is slick red mud
ehh vrey where! Sticky like setting cement but slippery as the dickens! While it will stain whatever it touches, it stays where you leave it. It doesn't hide in places like sand does.

I meant to ask you on those bee pictures, however many pages back, were those your cultivated Gaillardias? Or do they grow wild out there? I tried to grow them in PA but didn't have much luck with them. Roses yes, gaillardias...not so much.

She's a beautiful dog. Different kind, but I have a real appreciation for the sight hounds.

❤❤❤
I had 100s of guppies but they didn’t survive the move. Too cold, too beat up. Had we not crashed, they would have survived. I had a good line going.
Way back before they were "discovered" by most hobbyists, I had a gorgeous line of yellow cobra guppies. I used to sell them to our local pet store (back when you were allowed to do that sort of thing.) Then we moved, and a blizzard happened. A week without power and freezing temps throughout the house cost me all my young stock and the older ones never quite recovered. SO sad!!!! They were so unique - and had the most incredible tails ... not like the so-called cobras of today. I almost want to start up again to get 'em back ... almost ...

Ah, the bee fly pictures. That particular batch of gaillardia is from seeds that I harvested here and germinated and finally planted. They are perennials and have come back in that particular spot for at least 6 years now. They aren't spreading and their seeds germinated better after refrigerating them in a moist paper towel. They are not truly a dry loving plant and won't grow here without supplemental water. You may be too wet for them.

She is a scent hound.
