Kinda gross but.......

LMFAO I hear ya! At my DHs bands Halloween party, the drummer (and wife of the bassist) made all of the food, which included a FAKE litterbox dessert complete with Tootsie Roll turds..... There was no way I was going to even try it

Especially with their 8 billion cats running around... I mean, can you be sure that it IS the Tootsie Roll?

It's not so much the moths I was picturing, but their poop in the pasta box.

I guess it got diluted and rinsed off though?

You think moth larva in pasta is gross...I was watching a show on TV about weird foods that people eat around the world and there is this cheese that is considered a delicacy that has maggots in it.

They purposely infect the cheese with fly larva and let the maggots eat, digest and poop in the cheese then they eat the whole thing...maggots and all.

I'm pretty open minded when it comes to different kinds of food but I had to change the channel on that one.

I remember watching an interview with Charles Nelson Rielly. He was having a dinner party and as he poured the rice into the pot, a bunch of ants floated to the surface of the boiling water. His description of shooing people out of the kitchen while he was trying to fish the floating ants out of the rice was hysterical.

We eat cooked bugs all the time. That is where most vegetarians get their B12.

My math teacher did that. She made soup with some rice and there were little bugs floating in the soup... after they ate their first helping. So when she went up for her second helping she made everyone drop their spoons and didn't want to tell them but finally had to.

Flour sifters were created to get the BUGS out of the flour not the lumps.

We should be concerned when we find NO bugs in our food. That means it is not considered worthy of eating by bugs. And probably has little nutrition for humans either.

Hey, speaking of bugs in food, did anyone else see the PBS special on the life of a fig wasp?

I don't know if I can eat figs now...

I think I know what you're talking about with those figs....

When hubby & I were first married we used to go out on Sat night at a local bar and when we came home with the munchies, he would be in front of the TV and i was in the kitchen making peanut butter & jelly on toasted English muffins.

I dropped one and it landed PB&J side down of course, I picked it up and brought it front of the kitchen light to check for cat hairs, blew on it and guess who got that one? hehehe I used to feel guilty about that, but got over that too.
