Kinda gross but.......

I was just sitting here eating a box of raisins and something felt strange in my mouth. It was a live moth larvae!

This has never happened to me before. Well, the rest are going to the chickens! I think they get in our house from our cockatiels food.

Well! Perfectly reasonable on your part, I'd say. I've gotten sick from beef, chicken, and veggies plenty of times, but I can't say a bowl full of weevils has ever caused me an upset stomach. I used to accidentally eat those in cereal all the time. I've probably eaten moth larvae without knowing about it, too.
I wonder what happens in the brain that causes us to view bloody hanks of meat as good and little crawlies as bad. When in our culture did we draw a distinction? I'd rather eat roach than sewage slurping crab, frankly, yet people pay a ton for crab legs. This is going to keep me up at night, I just know it . . .

I think that one of the grossest "foods" out there is the litter box cake. Why someone would make food that looks like a box of poo is completely beyond me.

I've scooped out the floating moths and larvae too...
Just didn't tell DS...or he'd cross something else off his donot eat list.

I bit into a banana that had a caterpillar in it. I managed not to take a bite out of him, and we raised him til he became a moth.
