Kitty and Dog Thread, Show Me What You Got, other critters welcome too

She's an outdoor cat that lives in my shed. I'm a bit worried about her being cold afterwards, but she did okay after her spay. I will put her in the basement if necessary. I can't believe how much I have fallen for my kitty. She makes me love her.

I watched her yesterday stalking and playing with my bantam chickens. It was adorable. I even think the chickens enjoyed it all as they ran in terror than turned and surrounded her again for another round, and did it multiple times as kitty played in the tree between mock charges.

Aww maybe you could put her inside jsut for the first few days or something while she recovers? Or first week. First few days at least might help her recover faster/better, being warmer and stuff.

My poor Stinky kitty has to go back for surgery tomorrow as she has a hernia in her spay incision. I'm worried about her. I didn't want it to left for too long, so I'm getting it fixed right away. Poor kitty.

I don't want her to overheat or unacclimate to the outside temperatures. So it's a dilemma. The vets says the first 24 hours after surgery they can have problems regulating their body temperature. We will see how she does. I don't want to stress her either way.

That makes sense!! Maybe just the first night then and then put her back out? She will probably be okay if you make the shed warm enough. But I would at least do the first night, that way she doesn’t get used to the inside temps or unacclimated to the cold but won’t freeze the first night. She will likely be groggy and out of it anyway so may not be safe out there the first night.

I am sure she will be fine though!!

Finally, a place to share my fur babies!

First off, we have Maverick. He's quite possibly the most kind-hearted, affectionate boy in the history of the world. Fun fact: his favorite hobby is "raising" baby poultry.
Before chicks....

....and after chicks. Note obvious delight!


We held this sweet, weak little OEGB chick as it passed away, and Maverick did his best to provide comfort. Truly heart-warming.

And then, we have fiery Phoenix. While not nearly as mellow as Maverick, he's a doll. His smothering ways haven't yet begun to grow old....who doesn't love a cat that demands 24/7 lap time? One look into those crossed blue eyes, and you're hooked.

Now for the barn cats, Mika and Mila. They're sisters, but about as alike as night and day. Mila finds immense joy in human companionship, whereas Mika....well....let's just suffice to say she prefers attention on her terms. Both share a common hobby: keeping the flock company.

Last, but not least, Five. No idea where he came from, actually.....he simply decided to show up a couple years ago, and never left. Though we're unable to truly make up with him, he earns his keep as an excellent mouser. Poor thing suffers regular pecks in the butt from evil chickens.

This is, Fleurida. She is a rescue. Don't know how old as was an adult when I got her, but she's been with us for 5 years already. She is a pure lapcat.

This is a stray who has been coming around for a few weeks now. I call him Cousteau, after Jacques, since he is an explorer. Crumpet the chicken wants what he is eating. I don't see him everyday. Am beginning to think he goes from house to house for handouts.

We have a stray that looks similar to your Cousteau only the one that's taken to living in our garage has longer hair.
