Kitty and Dog Thread, Show Me What You Got, other critters welcome too

Couple weeks ago DS shows up at the clinic with a broken 6 week-old kitten. Someone had thrown the kitten out of a moving car on the Interstate at highway speed. Son's GF saves the cat, then calls DS because she knows he has an inside connection at the vet (DW).

Anyway, the cat. The lil guy hit the road pretty hard. Unfortunately, his left front leg was damaged beyond repair and had to be amputated. DS told the girls @ the clinic to "put it on Mom's bill." The girls at the clinic, who know him very well since he used to work @ the clinic, told him that he better discuss it with DW first. What's DW going to say?

Kitten comes home post-surgery for observation/rehab/fostering. This is my life, an endless parade of broken and rejected animals from various sources: the clinic, animal control, random people finding baby squirrels/rabbits/raccoons/birds, etc. The phrase "I need new squirrel nipples" is not considered weird at my house. The idea, as always, is to get the kitten back on it's (three) feet, socialize him, and then place him with someone else. Adopting out a three-legged kitten is a lot easier than you might think. People like a tragic backstory.

No Name kitten (once you name them you are screwed, I speak from experience) is still here. Stitches came out last week and he is getting around pretty good. The dogs ignore him because they have seen a lot of fosters come and go. I have become concerned that he won't...go. <sigh> Another foster fail cat. DW says that if I "make" her get rid of him, as if I could actually "make" her do anything, then I "owe" her a puppy.

Hope the photo doesn't upset anyone, I assure you this kitten is doing very well.View attachment 1839103
That’s a sweet story! You know you have to keep this one... what’s one more when you already have a bunch ;).... btw, Lucky is precious :D

Fris is a weirdo lol, but a good cat. He thinks he is a dog. At first I worried about him rolling over on the chicks, but he is careful and stops when he feels one under him. He spent a whole night in the house, unsupervised, with 8 older chicks who flew out of their fenced kiddie pool. Those birds flew out every night after that, much to my chagrin, to play with the cat. He thinks he is a dog and is all about getting petted. Chicks love his long fur. He loves face butting/rubbing against them. It all works out.

Oh ma ga!! I love this! They think he’s mama!! :love:love:love

Bowski: 15lbs of pretty-boy pushover :)
He's indoor at night, but goes out to make his rounds during the day. View attachment 1819434 View attachment 1819435

We were still calling him "Little Dude" when this was taken, having been unable to find the perfect name. It was eventually decided that he must forever remain "The Dude" so we named him Lebowski... then promptly shortened it.
The Dude abides.
He is gorgeous! I love my Siamese... Bobby!
Bobby was originally Baby as he was only four weeks old when we got him... he was from a feral mom.. there were a few mamas and 16 babies that were caught and we picked Bobby :love.... sometimes we call him Bad Bobby Brown ... we’ll sing Bad, bad, Bobby Brown, baddest cat in the whole darn town..... you know... instead of Leroy Brown :D

It looks like Bobby did pretty well for himself trick or treating on Halloween!

That’s true!! They’re like potato chips... can’t just have one LOL

Actually, I've found that they enjoy each other's company so much they seem happier overall than just having a single. After having my 3 at the same time and seeing how they enjoy each other, I'll never go back to just having a single cat.
