Sorry... there I go rambling about dogs in a cat thread.

I should change the title than. You know I love dogs.

You are totally fine.. didn’t come across wrong at all.. and yes, hunting dogs.. well, standard poodle doesn’t hunt but originally were hunters so yes, pretty energetic! And the Boykin.. fa-git abooouut it!! Non stop!! I hate it cuz you can never kiss him! He doesn’t sit still for a second! And I just have to kiss what is cute... I can’t help myself! I have even resorted to kissing the cutest of my chickens! Those which like to be hugged

Maybe I need you to come and train for me ... I am too lazy for that! We like to train without treats.. especially hunting dogs.. it’s really not recommended but with Boone I’m like... “Just use treats!! He’ll do ANYTHING for food!!” I mean, he listens and all... he’s just so darn hyper!!

Okay good!! And oh wow that sounds crazy!! Haha but then again puppies are insane! Maybe he’ll calm down

And I’m too paranoid to kiss mine. Salmonella and stuff

I gladly would LOL

And I totally understand that! Need to listen in the field and all ha but honestly I wean off them eventually anyway. They don’t just get treats forever haha but I find it a lot easier to start puppies hah I also sometimes use toys/play too or even praise/pats. Depends on the dog lol

And aww does he get to run a lot? Sometimes they just need that lol although I have a friend with two Golden’s and one is super wild and crazy almost like a field type, they got her off craigslist, and she could go trail running for 10 miles or 3 walks (really off leash hikes/woods walks and swimming but shorter rather than leashed walks ha) and still come back raring to go LOL the other ones good with just some laps around their huge circular driveway or maybe some fetch or one walk. Much more chill lol

So I totally get how even running doesn’t always help them!!

And she’s like 2 so not a tiny puppy anymore

The other is like 5 or 6 now i think but even as a pup was calm and trained by like 6 months lol more of a show Golden type and she’s from a breeder.

So it depends lol

But he might benefit from some more free running or playing with doggie sibling outside lol

He also might benefit from a flirt pole haha those things are soooo useful. You can make them or buy them. I bought one from squishy face studios but they’re so easy to make lol but they are fantastic and wear them out so fast haha

Naw, I'm okay with talking about all critters. Hopefully I don't run all they kitty people off. Kitties go well with other pets, so why not talk about them.

I currently have 6 dogs, but my oldest has been slowly failing. We believe she has some sort of cancer. Vet isn't sure what kind, but that's really unimportant at this point. She's on steroids to encourage her to keep eating, and to help overall. Each remaining day is precious, and we are taking it day at a time. She had good days and bad days.

So more than likely next year we will be back to 5 dogs. My husband got excited about the thought of another hound he could take out hunting. We have always had one since we married, but have been without one since Louie the black and tan coonhound died a couple of years ago, so we have been thinking about another. I probably wouldn't have had the problems with Fox like I've had this year if we still had a hound.
Those gotta go.
I haven't owned rats or mice, but I don't mind them as long as they aren't running wild.
