Oh my goodness... maybe I should be glad I hadn’t ridden my whole life.. :th

And yes, I know exactly what you mean... but I’m more like... I’m old.. I don’t give a toot what anybody thinks!! :rant.... :gig... but I’m really not that old.. I’m 51... but you really start to look older once you hit fifty and that’s the part I struggle with! I’m so vain ... but I am embracing my gray hair.. I call it my natural highlights
Im gonna be 52, so I'm not that old either. I'm just breaking down early from some hard labor as a kid. :hmm. So I'm calling myself old. :)

I got my first pony when I was 7. I pretty much grew up on the back of a horse. Neighbor girl and I would spend every free minute riding her horses or my pony. It's probably one of the many reasons I have a bad back and hips. I also grew up on a dairy farm. I did a lot of hard farm labor. I milked cows for many years.

My husband and I owned his parents dairy farm for about 9 years before we gave up and got out. Now we have a nice 40 acre hobby farm.

The 40 acres sounds fab! One day maybe here I hope...
totally get the riding plus other heavy work hurting physically. I’m feeling it now, sciatica & knees at the moment & especially when it’s damp & cold. I’m older than 30 but younger than 40 so dreading the years to come.

Mines a hunter too. We are country folks here.

Horses are a big commitment many people want but most can't afford to get involved with. The older I get the more I realize how dangerous horses can be as well. As a kid that stuff never occurs to you.

The ones that get me are the ones who can afford it but then they don’t want to do the donkey work that goes with keeping a horse. We’ve had quite a few liveries at our yard who have got their first horses in the summer but have then packed it in and sold them on before winter has finished. Or they do one winter and sell them on before the next. Kids especially annoy me when parents pay all the money and all they want to do is ride.

Hoping these are going to solve our slipping issues on the road :fl Different type of shoe & a road nail in. Going to give them a tester later on.

I hate people like that!! I personally love doing the work myself LOL weird maybe but I love brushing/grooming the horses and tacking them up and bathing them and everything. You get to bond with them. I don’t even mind mucking or feeding or turning out lol

Me too! I’m like it with all my animals. Weird OCD with things being just right. I know then too that everything is done right if I just do it myself.

Well yes that too!! :lau

I even get annoyed when my parents try to “help” with the chickens and then do it wrong and I have to redo it :lau
